CHAPTER 6: The Prophecy

"Where am I?" horrified, you asked aloud as soon as you woke up, surveying your room. Then all the events of the last 24 hours came flooding into your mind. You sighed with relief.

A glance at the watch told you it was 12 noon. You've gotten up just in time for lunch. You haven't had anything since the chocolate in Hogwarts Express. You were starving. You made a quick visit to the loo and came back only to find a tray of food already there on your bedside table. You were drooling over the smell. You removed the cover to find your favourite dish.

Now that you're done with your meal, you started contemplating on all the new information you gathered last night. At that time, it was too much to take in, but now you can think and decide clearly. Whatever the decision might be, you couldn't just leave these people hopeless than ever. But then there is your family in the muggle world who'd worry sick about you.

They already are worrying, I've been gone for more than just 24 hours, you thought.

You needed to pay a visit to professor McGonagall, the first thing you leave this room.

Ask her about what would happen to my family while I'm gone.

Ask her about the Sorcerer's Stone.

Give her - the Wizarding World- the answer they're waiting impatiently for.

You made a mental note and repeated these inside your head so as not to forget any crucial point.

One thing was clear, voldemort has succeeded in regaining control over the whole of Britain's Magical existence. He has gained a lot of allies from the other parts of the world. The muggles are being targeted and raided by the death eaters. If this goes on, it wouldn't be long before voldemort rules over the whole world. The thought sent a shiver down your spine.

Gathering your thoughts you concluded you have two choices at present;

Either, you take the mission, go back in the past and stop vold-- tom riddle, when he's less threatening.

Or, you don't take any risk and go back to your parents and get killed in a random raid by death eaters. You won't be able to save them in the muggle world as you lose your powers beyond the magical boundary.

No one knows the extent of your power. The only knowledge you have of your power is that no dark forces can defeat it. Now, you didn't know what possible powers voldemort has or what ways he's taken to gain it. He is a crafty and vile creature. He'd probably make sure there's no way to defeat him.

Besides, even if there was a way, before you can actually implement it, you'd have to research on his powers and his ways of staying immortal. And then Destroy his horcruxes and other ways he's surely taken. Then fight him and defeat him. Within that period of time, more innocent lives will be lost and though you didn't like the thought but there's no saying that your family will still be alive by then. Furthermore, your powers Haven't yet revealed itself fully.

Taking a deep breath and calming down your nerves, you made up your mind. Now it's time you fill them in with your decision.

With the earlier day's outfit on, you took your bag, put on your mask and with a last look at your room you headed towards professor McGonagall's office.
