"Found it!", you exclaimed in a whisper as you ran your finger over the word you've been searching for, since the last two hours.

' Lethereis Manesco', it read.

'A spell that has the ability to erase a part of the victim's memory permanently. Unlike obliviate, the erased memory can not be restored. The spell stretches other memories of the victim to fill in the void part of the erased memory. The process of erasing and filling in the void place can be terribly painful and might put the victim in a coma.

In Early times, this spell was used during the wizarding wars, on spies who failed to stay hidden and were discovered by the rival party. The spell erased the part of their memory that contained confidential information. Many deaths were recorded at that time due to frequent use of this spell. It was put into the category of dark spells and made illegal after....".

You didn't read any further as you achieved your desired information. With a sigh you closed the bulky book and piled it on top of all the other books that you've taken from the restricted section of the Hogwarts Library.

You were quite wrong when you thought sleep would've come easier to you after yesterday's incident. The questions in your head seemed to multiply itself by every hour of the night, resulting in your constant tossing and turning on your bed. Drenched in sweat and breathing heavily you decided to acquire a solution to this problem. And only when you get your answers will you be able to take the next step for your mission.

Therefore the Restricted section of the Hogwarts Library found you at 3 in the morning, searching through all of its shelves for your answers. Your magic helped you a great lot while on this little mission. You wouldn't have been able to sneak into the library completely unseen and unheard had not your magic let you stay invisible and silent all throughout. And no creek of the huge wooden door of Hogwarts Library was heard during your invasion as you never required to open the door. It was your magic that let you in through a hole that was made at its centre wide enough for you to pass through it. The hole vanished as soon as you entered the library and the door looked just as it did before, un-holed.

After you were done creeping into the library at such an hour, you concerned yourself with the next task. Finding the source from which, most probably, the spell that Riddle cast, had been taken. A few things were quite clear; firstly, it wasn't some spell that one learnt at Hogwarts and secondly it was a Dark Spell. Tom Riddle used nothing if not a cluster of Dark Spells. You begun your research through the restricted section, chances were you'd either find it in here or nowhere. God knew what were Riddle's sources of learning such dark magic. Neither was anything of the sort mentioned in detail in the HP books, only that Riddle could create spells and had a vast knowledge on Dark Arts.
