The young witches walked towards the elevators, Hermione was leaning on Ginny for support. The potion was taking effect faster than they had expected.

The door was already closing when an Assistant Healer called out for them to wait. Ginny pressed the hold button so they could get in before the elevator closes and goes down.

"Thank you," the young Assistant Healer said to them. She was assisting a patient who was sitting on a wheelchair. As she pushed the wheelchair inside, the young witches saw the woman sitting on it.

Hermione's eyes became wide in recognition, it was no other than Narcissa Malfoy. She gave Ginny a look, and signalled her to be quiet. Of all the people to see her like this, it had to be Draco Malfoy's mother! She thought.

The elevator ride couldn't go down faster as they would have liked. Hermione prayed that Narcissa would not look back at them. But, some unknown force suddenly made Narcissa look back, fixing her eyes on Hermione's abdomen.

Hermione paled, not that she was not already pale. Narcissa's eyes slowly look up to meet her widened gaze.

"Ms. Granger," the blonde witch greeted, an inquisitive expression on her beautiful face.

The brunette witch could not respond, so she just nodded at her in acknowledgement.

She feels so cold and stiff at the moment, the calmness from the potion suddenly lost its effectiveness as Narcissa said: "I can not believe it's you, carrying my grandchild."

The elevator doors opened as the words left her lips, the two young witches were dumbstruck.

"Madame Malfoy is currently on therapy, so don't take her words seriously. She's been talking about having a grandchild since a week ago," the Assistant Healer explained quietly as she started pushing the wheelchair out of the elevators.

As the elevator doors started to close again, Ginny came back to her senses. She pressed the hold button then pulled Hermione out of the elevators. Her friend was as stiff as a board.

"Hermione, you heard the assistant. Don't believe Malfoy's mother," Ginny said, shaking her lightly. "Come on, we need to get you settled at Grimmauld Place before you fall asleep. I can't carry you around Muggle London," she urged.

The girls exited St. Mungo's using the front entrance of the red-bricked condemned department store Purge and Dowse where the hospital was hidden in plain sight from Muggles.

"Do you have muggle money?" Ginny asked. Hermione just nodded in response. She was still ahaken from their encounter with the Malfoy matriarch.

They walked for a bit, waiting for a cab to take them to number 12 Grimmauld Place.
