Ginny walked purposefully downstairs, trying very hard to control her temper. Of course, Harry Potter the Boy Who Lived will think that the Death Eater downstairs will take care of the Brightest Witch of Her Age just because once upon a time that Death Eater's mother, Narcissa Malfoy, chose to save him.
But not her, she knows what that slimy Slytherin is capable of, he admitted it himself. He Imperiused and Obliviated Hermione just because she was in the wrong place at the wrong time during one of his pity parties.
She reached the first floor bedroom where she and Hermione have been sharing ever since they started staying at Grimmauld Place a few years back. Her hand reached for the knob and silently opened the door, not wanting to wake Hermione up.
Ginny saw Malfoy sitting on a chair beside the bed. He was smart after all not to lay down on my bed, she thought. Upon inspection, she noticed that he was sleeping too, his breathing relaxed and even.
Will you look at that? The Ferret is sleeping peacefully after telling us he will take care of Hermione. She quietly sat on her bed across them, studying them.
Ginny noticed that they both looked exhausted, dark circles surrounding their eyes. She decided to stay in the room to be able to guard her sleeping friend. She wouldn't be able to sleep anyway since the Ferret is still in the house.
Picking up a book, she moved towards her desk, which thankfully was facing the beds, and continued doing her homework while watching the two sleeping figures.
Hermione and her needed to be back at the Burrow tomorrow morning but with Malfoy sleeping over tonight, she doesn't think they will be able to go home yet. Damn that Ferret! It's almost New Year's Eve and they are still stuck in Grimmauld Place, she thought irritably.
After a few hours, Ginny's eyes began to feel heavy with sleep. Seeing that their unwanted visitor was still in deep sleep, she decided to sleep at last. She moved towards her bed, then laid down sideways facing Hermione's bed and keeping her wand tightly grasped on her hand, she began to sleep.

Hermione awoke at the crack of dawn the next day. She felt better after sleeping for nine hours straight, thankful that no nightmares disturbed her sleep.
When she scanned the room, she saw Ginny still sleeping on her bed across from hers, her friend's wand lay forgotten on the floor.
Then, she noticed someone sitting on the chair near the foot of her bed. She sat up quietly, studying the person occupying the chair. When she saw a mop of white blonde hair, she was surprised.
She remembered fainting last night after he told her he will be leaving so she could rest and nothing more after that. She was flabbergasted to see that he stayed and her friends let him stay.
Hermione couldn't help but to stare at the blonde boy who was sleeping peacefully at her desk chair.
She thinks that he somehow convinced Harry to let him stay with her, and that puzzled her. But Ginny is another story, seeing her friend's wand on the floor meant that Ginny was still holding it before falling asleep.
The brunette witch stood up as quietly as she could, not wanting to wake the other occupants in the room. She needed to go to the loo. As she started walking towards the door, upon passing the sleeping figure of Malfoy, he suddenly opened his eyes.
"You are awake," he said groggily. He started to stand up, Hermione stood rooted in front of him, too surprised to move.
"How are you feeling?" Draco asked her gently, his hand started to move to hers but he put it down before he could touch her.
