Malfoy Manor

Draco Malfoy has been pacing inside his room for the past hour. He had researched everything he could about the Black Family Tree Tapestry in the manor's library once he got back from St. Mungo's.

He did not like what he discovered- that kind of tapestry never lies and always knows when a descendant of the family has been conceived.

He thought back to what he learned that afternoon. According to the Healer, his mother has been asking about a grandchild for two weeks already- this means it was before he and Hermione got intimate with her consent and not Imperiused by him. This meant that she was already pregnant with his child before they had a somewhat positive relationship.

Surely, if she already knows that she is pregnant, she will tell him- knowing that there had been nobody to touch her like that before. This will be the ideal scenario for him- he will tell her he is willing to marry her before their child is born.

But, the age of the child in her womb complicates everything- his crime will be revealed and Hermione Granger will surely hate him for violating her.

He wa so doomed! His own mother will also hate him once she finds out that he r***d a virgin. He will rot in Azkaban or be given the Dementor's Kiss once Granger go to the Ministry and file a case against him.

He does not know what to do! Maybe he should just hand himself to the Ministry and admit his crime now, that would probably appease the hurt he has caused Granger.

Or better yet, he should just climb the tallest turret of the manor without his wand and jump down so he will be dead instantly.

He is a coward and he knows this. But, thinking of a child of his own- that makes it hard for him to not fight for his chance to live and be happy with his own family.

He did not notice that the sun had already set, that tears are already flowing out of his eyes, that he was not pacing anymore in his room.

He was on his bedroom floor, curled up, shivering and crying out the pain and remorse he was feeling.

It was so low of him to do something as horrible as taking Hermione's purity. He thought he could erase his crime by making her like him voluntarily.

A tapping sound from the window woke him up from his ruminations. Draco looked up to see an unfamiliar owl tapping on one of the windows. He quickly stood up, seeing that the unfamiliar owl bore the St. Mungo's logo on its collar.

He opened the window to let it in, it flew inside and landed on his study table. He saw that it was carrying a letter addressed to him from his mother.

The blonde gave the owl a treat before it flew away once again. He ripped the letter open, wanting to know why his mother wrote to her when he had just visited her at the hospital.

Dear son,

I met Ms. Granger at the elevators of the hospital later this afternoon after you left. She looks unwell and Ms. Weasley was supporting her.

I was surprised to know that she was the one carrying my grandchild in her womb. Did you know that?

She was quite surprised when I told her that, but I need not mean to be rude to her or anything. Please tell her for me that I was just surprised that it was her. Better her carrying my grandchild than the Parkinson girl, pureblood or not.

Really son, how long were you keeping your relationship with her? I am still sane, just a bit depressed. But having a grandchild to look forward to makes me so ecstatic!

Please take her with you when you visit me again before you both return back Hogwarts. I want to know her more and we can talk about your wedding. I won't have a grandchild out of wedlock, remember that!

Love,
Mum

Draco's heart lifted slightly after reading his mother's letter. She doesn't care if Hermione's a muggle-born!

But, the thing bothering him was that his mother told Hermione that she's bearing her grandchild! This means Hermione already suspects she's pregnant if she did not know it already from her visit to St. Mungo's.

Why was she there with Ginny Weasley in the first place? Also, why did she look unwell when mother saw her? He thought.

After a while, there was knock on his door. It was one of the elves, informing him that dinner was ready.

He tidied himself up before going down to the dining hall to have dinner all by himself.

Back at 12 Grimmauld Place, Harry Potter tried to contain his rage. He saw his best friend breaking down in front of him, and he and Ginny tried soothing her.

They led her to the kitchens to have some of the dinner Kreacher had made earlier. After making her eat, Ginny gave her the potions Healer Mary gave them- the ones for her pregnancy and another Calming Draught to help her relax.

Ginny kept the Memory Restoring Potions on one of the cupboards, knowing that it was not the time for Hermione to try to bring back her Obliviated memories. Her friend was too weak from the day's revelations.

Once Hermione had taken the Calming Draught, she felt its effects immediately, allowing her to think clearer.

She saw Harry and Ginny seated at the kitchens, heads close together whispering to each other after she came back from her bath. Thankful that Ginny brought them some clothes from the Burrow.

When Harry saw Hermione approaching them, he quickly stood up and went to her.

"Mione, I can't stay here with you and Gin. I have to go back to the Burrow so Ron wouldn't suspect anything odd," he explained, holding her hand.

"Ginny will take care of you, I'll tell Molly both of you will come home the day after tomorrow at the latest," he added. He then hugged her tightly.

"Thank you, Harry. Will you be coming back tomorrow after work?" She asked, wanting to discuss with them her predicament.

"Of course, I will. I'll also try dropping by at lunch if Ron and I have different assignments tomorrow," the black haired boy answered, adjusting his glasses.

"Please, don't make any rash decisions," Hermione pleaded. "And don't tell Ron yet," she added, knowing Ron would not be able to control his anger better than Harry had. The redhead would be livid once he found out about her situation.

"Of course, I won't tell him. I promise," Harry answered.

"Come on, Hermione," Ginny invited. "You need to lie down now before the potion makes you sleepy." She walked closer to her friend and boyfriend.

"Bye, Harry," the redhead said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

"Good night, Gin," Harry replied. "I'll see you girls tomorrow," he said, moving towards the kitchen fireplace to floo to the Burrow.

Both girls smiled and nodded to him. After he has left, Ginny led Hermione to their bedroom, the same room they had shared when Grimmauld Place was still the Order's Headquarters.

Both were tired from the day's events.

Ginny hoped that tomorrow they could decide on what to do without hurting Hermione further. She wanted to avenge her friend, but she also wants to respect her decision.

They also need to think about the child's welfare, knowing that will be Hermione's top priority. She still couldn't believe that her friend will be a mother soon.

Once he arrived at the Burrow, Harry was relieved to see that there was nobody present in the living room.

He quietly moved out of the house, going to the Apparition Point on the hill near the Burrow.

He thought of his destination once he arrived there. Trying his best to concentrate so as not to splinch himself.

Draco Malfoy was about to retire to his chambers after his lonely dinner when he heard somebody shouting and banging outside the manor gates.

A House-elf suddenly appeared in front of him. "Master Draco! Harry Potter is outside the gates!" The little elf exclaimed.
