Chapter 2-Berk

Selene's POV

Hiccup, Toothless, Crystal and I were flying towards Berk. 'You seem really excited sis. I'm really looking forward to seeing how far humans and dragons have come. The way Thunderstream described these vikings, they sound awful. But Hiccup seems different.' I nodded with a big smile at the name of the Stormcutter mother who raised us.

She is very kind, and was considered the den mother of our little family. She was the one who found me washed up on the beach on the island. For a while I wondered why she didn't kill me, and when I asked her she said that everybody deserves a second chance. I noticed some black scales next to me and Crystal and saw that Hiccup and Toothless had gotten in sync with us. "You ok? You seemed to be spacing out a little." I nodded my head at him. "Yeah I'm fine. Just thinking of my home. There was a big Stormcutter by the name of Thunderstream who raised me and Crystal." Hiccup and Toothless looks both shocked and amazed. "What's a Stormcutter?" Wow. Apparently I need to give Hiccup some more dragon knowledge. I pulled out my sketchbook from my saddle bag and carefully handed it to Hiccup. The way he was flipping through the pages was so funny. I had to hold a hand to my mouth to stop me from laughing. "Wow Selene, these drawings are amazing! My friend Fishlegs is gonna love this!" Crystal looked up at me with the same look that was plastered on my face. 'Who names their kid Fishlegs?' I just shrugged my shoulders.

"Look there it is!" Hiccup said while pointing towards an island with a big peak. It looked beautiful. I saw homes and a port all along the front of the island. "Hiccup, th-this is amazing. I've never seen anything like this before." Toothless started to descend in front of what looked like an arena. Crystal and I looked at each other with both confused and scared looks plastered on our faces. "Uh Hiccup? I've heard that arenas like this is where vikings have killed dragons." Hiccup hopped off Toothless and walked over to me and offered a hand. "It's ok. This is Berk's Dragon Training Academy. We learn and train dragons here." I smiled and took his hand and he helped me off Crystal. He led us inside and saw different kids around my age with different dragons. I was smiling seeing vikings and dragon cooperate. Then I saw a girl with braided blonde hair turn and noticed us. "Hey guys, Hiccup is back and he brought someone with him!" All the other teens looked over at us and rushed over to us. Feeling uneasy, I hid under Crystal's wings and she camouflaged herself so we wouldn't be seen. "Whoa! The girl and her dragon disappeared." The chubbier viking said. The two who look identical, started hitting each other.

Hiccup came closer to where Crystal and I were, and kneeled down to our eye levels. "It's ok. They aren't going to hurt you." Feeling better, I patted Crystal's side and she uncamouflaged herself and I crawled out from under her. I shyly waved my hand, while looking down at the ground. "Gang, this is Selene and her Light Fury Crystal." The teens awed at us. The chubby boy was fan girling or in this case 'fanboying' about Crystal. I put a hand on my sword that Thunderstream said she found with me.
