Chapter 8- We are Family pt 1 and 2

Selene's POV

The gang and I were in the cove and practicing dragon calls.We were getting ready for this Bork Week or something along those lines. Hiccup was calling for Toothless and his dragon impression wasn't to shabby. "That's why you brought us out here? To honk into the wind?" Snotlout asked and Fishlegs told him to be patient. "Dragon calls. Psh whatever." Snotlout said and hopped up on a log. He then pulled out a coin and started to shine it and the twins were distracted by it. I sighed and grabbed from Snotlout. "Hey!" I glared at him and he just backed off. Hiccup called for Toothless again, but the Night Fury wasn't in sight. "And nothing can we go now?" Snotlout asked but Toothless called out and I saw him coming in. "You were saying?" Astrid asked the boy as Toothless landed next to me. "Fine. I hate to admit it, but that was pretty cool." Snotlout told us. "Not as cool as that disappearing shiny thing." Tuff told us.

I smirked and hopped up onto a rock and called for Crystal. My call was answered immediately and Crystal landed right next to me. "Why does she make everything look easy?" Ruff asked her twin. Crystal and I fist-bumped and stepped down from the rock. "Fishlegs, you wanna show us your dragon call?" Hiccup asked the boy. "Thought you'd never ask. The call of the Gronckle is as unique as the dragon itself. Raw, guttural, intense, yet with a-" Fishlegs was cut off by Snotlout wanting him to hurry up. Fishlegs did his dragon call and Meatlug flew over the edge and flew closer to her rider. "Well done, Fishlegs." Hiccup complimented the boy. "Oh, I'm not done. Watch this." Fishlegs roared again and the twins looked disgusted. "I don't want to know what part of his body that came from." Tuff said and a whole group of Gronckles came and Meatlug went to join them. "Be home for dinner, we're having granite!" Fishlegs told his dragon then turned to us. "That's her favorite." He told us. "Astrid, wanna have a go?" I asked her and she nodded her head. "With pleasure." She hopped up on a rock and did her call. Stormfly and a hole herd of Nadders went flying over the cove. "Well done, Astrid. First try." I complimented the girl.

"Uh, I have an important question." Tuff told us. "Is it really important?" I asked the boy. "Uh yeah. It always is. Like, why are we even doing this anyway? I don't get it." He told us. "It's helpful to have a call in case you and your dragon get separated and need help finding each other." I told him and he still didn't get it. "Second of all, i's Bork Week and my dad asked us to put on a dragon air parade." Hiccup told the twins. "Why do we care about this Bork guy anyway? Wasn't he a dragon killer?" Ruff asked and Fishlegs defended Bork saying he only did that for self-defense. "He studied them, wrote about them, lived and bred them." Fishlegs told us. "And without him there would be no Book of Dragons." Hiccup put in. "And without the Book of Dragons there would be no-" Fishlegs was cut off by Snotlout being obnoxious. "There wouldn't be an academy, and no dragon air show." I told the boy. "When we do this really cool dragon air show, who are they gonna fly with?" Snotlout asked us gesturing to Crystal and Toothless. "We're working on that." Hiccup told him. "I don't see why they can't fly by themselves in the parade." I told them.

"I know but, it would be nice to have more." Hiccup told me. "Hiccup, sometimes we have to cherish what we have. Not be greedy for more." I told the boy as I climbed up on Crystal and we flew off towards some sea stacks. "Feel like a little water splash?" I asked Crystal. "Duh."  She told me. We dove down towards the sea and at the last minute, Crystal blasted the water and when the water rose, Crystal flew around it and formed a spiral. "Nice work." I told her. We flew back to Berk since it was getting dark. When I got to the house and close to my room, I saw Hiccup going though some notes. I quietly giggled and went to my room. I crawled to my bed and Crystal heated up her rock and laid down on it. "Night." Crystal told me. "Night." I told her back. I closed my eyes and fell asleep. I was woken up by a very happy Hiccup. "What are you-" I was cut off by Hiccup lighting my candle and showing me these pages. "Look at this, Selene. There is an island full of Night Furies, somewhere out there!" Hiccup told me. I smiled and looked at the pages and saw what seemed to be facts about the Night Fury. "This is cool, but I've never heard of an Isle of Night." I told him, but he was too excited to listen. "Tomorrow morning, we go find this cave to find the Isle of Night." Hiccup left my room and I just sighed.
