Chapter 1-Meeting Berk's heros

Selene's POV

Crystal and I were still flying trying to find this 'Berk' island. I over heard that Berk made peace with dragons and I had to see it for myself. "Crystal, think the stories are true? Vikings and dragons made peace?" I looked down at the light fury and she made a small coo. 'I don't know. It would be nice if it was true.' For so long, we had wanted peace between humans and dragons. All the humans just seemed to believe that killing was the key to all their problems. Dragons didn't have a choice, otherwise they would be killed by the Red Death. It was also rumored among the dragons that a human had killed it. "Hey sis? Think its true? A human killed the Red Death?" She merely made a coo. 'I highly doubt it. But hopefully we'll find our answers when we get to Berk.' I smiled and hugged her the best I could considering I was on her back. We decided to take a break on some nearby sea stacks, since we had been flying most of the day. Little did we know that there was an adventure about to be had.

Hiccup's POV

I was out flying Toothless since I needed to get away from Berk. I wanted to attempt to find another Night Fury for Toothless. "Hey bud wanna try out by the sea stacks first?" He rumbled a 'yes'. I chuckled and with the wind blowing in my face, we took off. As we flew towards the sea stacks, we heard some talking. "Hey Crystal, how close to Berk do you think we are?" All I heard was a short bark. Toothless seemed to get excited. "Wanna see who that is bud?" Toothless nodded with excitement. So, we flew towards the sounds and found a girl with a white night fury!! The white night fury seemed to sense something, since it turned this way and spotted Toothless and myself. The girl looked at us with both fear and curiosity.

Selene's POV

There was a boy and a night fury! Crystal got in front of me ready to defend me if they were hostile. "Whoa, its ok. We won't hurt you or your rider." The night fury got in front of the boy to defend him. 'We don't want to hurt you, we just wanted to explore.' I could tell that the Night Fury was being honest so I stood up, and patted Crystal and she sat. "Im sorry, we're just not used to seeing people. My name is Selene and this is my sister, Crystal." Crystal nodded her head in greeting. The boy smiled at us. "My name is Hiccup and this is Toothless. And what do you mean 'sisters' if I may ask?" I smiled and scratched Crystal's head. "We were raised together, so we are sisters. Can I look at Toothless. I've never seen a Night Fury before?" Hiccup gestured for me to come forward. I stick my hand out so Toothless could sniff. He smelled my hand and his eyes widened and he tackled me. Crystal was laughing behind me and Hiccup was trying to get the dragon off me. "Toothless! No, I'm sorry. He gets excited easily." I laughed and scratched the dragon's head, as he curled up into me. Crystal came over and smelled Toothless. He lifted his head and looked into her baby blue eyes. "It's ok. Im used to it. I'd rather take Night Fury spit than Changewing acid." After I said that that, the brunette's eyes widened. "You've seen a Changewing?" He looks as if he has seen a ghost. "Yes. There are a few Changewings on the island I grew up on. Along with multiple different species of dragon." Hiccup was in awe. I then remembered something. "Hey Hiccup, do you know where Berk is? There are rumors among dragons that Berk has made peace with dragons. I would like to see it for myself." Crystal barked agreeing with my statement. Hiccup laughed at my question. "I know Berk. I live on Berk. My dad, Stoick, is the chief." I felt stupid so I bowed at the boy, and Crystal bowed down with her head. "There is no need to bow. Do you want to come back to Berk with us?" At that question my eyes lit up. "Can we really? I want to see what other human and dragon interactions look like." Hiccup beckoned me with his hand. I got on Crystal's back and we both took off into the sky. "Hiccup I need to know, by any chance was it you and Toothless who took out the Red Death?" Hiccup and Toothless looked at me in surprise. "Y-yes, we did. How did you know?" I shrugged my shoulders. "There were stories that the most vicious beast was defeated by a boy and his dragon. And I had to find out if the rumors were true. And it looks like they are."

Hiccup laughed and told me his story. I was crying by the end of it. Hiccup looked nervous and rubbed his neck. Toothless and Crystal came next to us and laid next to us. 'I'm sorry that happened to you.' Crystal muttered with sadness in her voice. Toothless gave her a gummy smile, 'It's in the past. Now I have a best friend who gave me my flight back.' After hearing Toothless say that, Crystal rubbed her head under his. He rubbed his head on hers as well. "Hey Selene, do you know what happened to your family at all?" I shook my head with sadness. "No. The only thing I have left of them is this necklace.

"I want to know what happened to them, or the reason why they gave me up." I rubbed the jade gem with my thumb. Crystal rubbed her head into my arm and I hugged her. 'We will find your parents.' I gave her a silent thanks. "Selene, why don't you and Crystal come to Berk? That way you can see more interaction between Vikings and dragons." My eyes widened, I looked at Crystal and she bobbed her head up and down. I laughed and got up on my feet. "Yes, I will Hiccup. I want to see what Berk is like." I stretched a hand out to him, and he grabbed it so I heaved him up on his feet. We both hopped onto our dragons and flew off towards this Berk.
