Chapter 37: Bounty Hunters

A Week After the Last Chapter

Satsuki and Mito had just shaken off all of the soreness from the all-out spar against Naruto a weak prior when they saw Naruto standing at the doorway, his pack on his back. "I'm bringing the pack with stuff for all of us, just get your immediate travel scrolls. We're going to be using these next two years for bounty hunting," Naruto told them. Satsuki and Mito nodded and sluggishly got out of their two beds. "If you don't hurry up, I won't make breakfast," Naruto said. The two immediately shot out and got ready, before walking out. Naruto tossed the two a bowl of ramen. "Eat and I'll explain what we're doing," Naruto said. The two nodded and started eating.

"Okay, so Kumo has been having trouble with a large group of bandits attacking some of its weaker villages. We're supposed to get a thousand yen for each of their heads," Naruto told the two, who nodded as they slurped their noodles. "There are supposedly five leaders, but there might be up to fifteen more for a total of twenty, and each of their heads are a million yen," Naruto said. The girls stopped eating and looked in surprise. "A million..." Satsuki started. "A HEAD!" Mito finished, exclaiming it almost as loudly as Sakura talks. "Yes a head," Naruto said with a deadpan expression. The two girls resumed eating. "Now anyway, even jonin level shinobi have failed, but you two are both easily anbu captain level shinobi by now," Naruto told them. "Now are you ready?" Naruto asked. Mito and Satsuki nodded and sealed away their bowls for cleaning later. "Let's get going then!" Naruto exclaimed and the three started running.

Time Skip Two Hours

Naruto, Mito and Satsuki were all outside of the outskirts village of Kumo's land. "Masks on," Naruto said. The girls nodded and put on their masks. "Remember on this mission, we are to address each other by our code names. I am Kitsune, Mito's Dragon, and Satsuki is Raven," Naruto told them. The two girls nodded.  Naruto then shunshinned in front of the Outskirt Village's leader, who was a man who appeared to be in his mid-forties, about six foot two in height, and of average build. "So this village is being under attack and raided every night, correct?" Naruto asked. The village leader nodded. "Very well then, my team will help you," Naruto told him. The man nodded. "Be careful though. No ninja has ever been able to help us..." The old man stated. Naruto nodded. "The next attack is happening tonight though, if you must know... they sent me a letter," the older man stated, showing Naruto the letter in which the warning was. "Very well then, my team and I shall be ready for them when they come," Naruto said. "Dragon! Raven! Let's be off," Naruto told them. "HAI!" They yelled, shunshinning to their positions.

Time Skip To Night

Naruto, Mito, and Satsuki were waiting in front of three of the four entrances to the village, the fourth entrance was the direct path to Kumo and no one dared cross it. Naruto then noticed what looked like torchlight appear in the dark. "It appears they've arrived in platoons of two thousand, with three leaders," Naruto stated. "Same here," both Mito and Satsuki replied through the walkie-talkie. "Well then, let's begin the ambush,"

First Platoon Fight! Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto landed in front of the platoon, his Kami No Bijon glaring a bright orange light from his left eye socket. "Now, what do we have here?" one of the leaders sneered. "Another one of those brats after our bounty!" The thousands of men laughed. "I am after your bounty, what of it?" Naruto asked. "Look at this punk! He thinks he can take on all of us!" one of the men in the crowd of two thousand said. Soon after, jeers and challenges followed. "Don't blink," Naruto started, pulling out his katana. "because if you do," he said, readying himself. "you might just miss it," Naruto finished, making his katana invisible. Suddenly, every last one of the troops' heads disappeared, blood coming out like a fountain from their necks. Naruto smirked under his mask. "I believe it's your time to go," Naruto stated. The three leaders' eyes widened. The one in the middle opened his mouth and yelled. "HELP! CALL IN FOUR OF YOU! WE NEED THEM!" He yelled. "So I assume there are twenty of you in total," Naruto said. The guy nodded in fear. "Wait! I meant there totally isn't a total of twenty of us," he said. "You have lied to me, and for that injustice," Naruto looked the middle man right in the eye. "You shall pay," And Naruto was teleported right to the three, slicing their heads off. "Now from what I remembered, I heard I couldn't win," Naruto said as four more of them landed. "Wind style! Wind Kunai Cloak!" All four of them yelled as they each threw ten kunai. Naruto merely adjusted his katana, which now was covered in blood that gleamed in the moonlight. He then slashed outward, shattering all forty of the kunai that was infused with chakra. Naruto then tossed a singular kunai in front of them, and they laughed, thinking his aim was bad, only for Naruto to teleport to the kunai. "Now, I truly see that your end is here!" Naruto yelled as he sliced off their heads. "Woo, that's quite the millions of yen," Naruto said with a grin.

Second Platoon fight! Mito Namikaze

Mito was staring at the platoon coming for the tiny village with plentiful resources. She found the perfect moment and activated her jutsu. "Ninja Art, RasenShuriken!" She whispered to herself, throwing the RasenShuriken in the middle of the platoon. The light from the jutsu came at the platoon and before they could start running, it made contact with the center of them, leaving only two hundred men left. Mito landed in front of them, her upper assets moving slightly, catching the attention of the warriors. "Let's take her! We can use her for our... pleasure," one of the leaders yelled, pointing at Mito. Mito merely activated her mangekyou and glared at them, a red glowing coming from her eyes. "It appears death has asked for me to bring you to her," Mito said as she looked at them. Suddenly, all of their warriors' heads came off. "Now that was truly elegant," Mito said. The guys all looked slightly nervous but were still cocky. "She's just a girl," one of them said. "Call for backup anyway, we want to have the best chance at capturing her," the guy said. "Aight get over here you three!" Another of the guys said. Three more guys shunshinned behind them. "Hey, that's more money for me," Mito said in a carefree tone. One of the guys growled, "You takin us lightly girly?" He asked. Mito shrugged, "I gave you guys way more credit than you deserve so I think I am," She responded with sass. "Now now, I'll end you quickly," Mito said as her tanto appeared in her hand, showing the blood of the people she killed glistening in the moonlight. "Say goodbye," Mito whispered, now behind all six men. They all felt a blade against there throats as the last sensation they would ever feel before dying. "Well, that's gonna bring in a fortune!" Mito said with a grin. 

Final Platoon Fight: Satsuki Uchiha!

Satsuki was sitting on a branch in a tree, watching as the platoon of chunin to anbu level shinobi went by her. She tossed a singular kunai. "Ninja Art, Shadow Kunai Clone Jutsu," Satsuki said as the kunai multiplied to the thousands, perfectly impaling each bandit in the heart. Satsuki then jumped down. "So, another kid comes to try and get our bounties," the guy in the middle of the six leaders said. "So what if I am?" Satsuki asked. "Oooh a girly, oh no I'm so scared," The guy on the right said in a mocking tone. Satsuki tossed a kunai that embedded itself in the guy's forehead. "don't mock me," She said. Suddenly, she felt herself get grabbed from all sides and she saw a hand reaching for her mask. "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME!" Satsuki yelled, flaring her chakra. In an instant, Naruto appeared, knocking all of the men away before being blown away by the chakra. The men got up and came back at Satsuki. Satsuki tossed several kunai at the men, killing them instantly. "I should've just tried from the beginning, it's a good thing Naruto saved me," Satsuki muttered. 

After Meeting Up

"Dragon, Raven, I assume you finished unscathed," Naruto asked. Mito and Satsuki nodded. "That's good, now let's go," Naruto told them. The two nodded and they all shunshinned to the village head's room. "Hello sir, we finished all of the bandits," Naruto said. The elderly man nodded. "Thank you very much! The bounty booth if you collected any heads is two miles down the road from here, I also hear that someone's been harassing people who cross and steals stuff, so you might want to try and take his head for that bounty too, it's about five million yen," the old man said. The three nodded. "Thank you for informing us," they said before shunshinning away.

Time Skip

Naruto, Mito, and Satsuki just finished packing and started walking to the bounty booth, masks still on. Suddenly, a man with firey red hair and striking blue eyes jumped in front of them. Naruto knew they caught their guy and threw his kunai at his throat, effectively killing him. "Man his chakra levels were low and he also was decently fast for even a jonin," Naruto said. He then grabbed the guy's head and they all went to the booth, exchanging all of the heads for a total of thirty-one million yen. "Well that was kinda easy," Mito said with a shrug. "Yeah, it was."

Well that's a wrap. Normally I don't write author's notes but I think this one's really important so please read it. I promise it'll be short. So basically I wrote these training chapters for a bit of filler but also to explain certain bits of character development, so now that that's out of the way I can skip to the trio coming back and just add flashbacks here and there.
