Chapter 38: Mito's Jonin Exams!

One Year After the Last Chapter

Three figures were sitting in a clearing when a bird swooped in, dropping off a paper. "It seems the final permission slip for watching the jonin exams arrived," a male voice spoke. Said male was 5'11, lean but muscular, tan, cerulean blue eyes, and had spiky golden blond hair. He tossed the paper to a female of about 5'7 with fair skin, a slightly skinny body with decent-sized curves, long, straight black hair, and piercing black eyes. "Thanks, Naruto," The girl said to the man who was now identified as Naruto. "No problem Satsuki. Mito, you ready?" Naruto told the third girl, whose name was Mito. Mito stood at 5'7, had bright violet eyes, bright red hair with twin ponytails and buns at the top of each ponytail, and a perfect hourglass figure. "HELL YEAH! I'LL BECOME JONIN EASILY!" Mito yelled, pumping her fist in the air. Naruto smirked. "Yet you still act like a kid," He said, causing him to get a punch to the back of the head. "Oh shut up!" Mito exclaimed boisterously. Satsuki sighed, "Cut out the antics you two, the jonin exams check-in is in a couple of hours so we need to get Mito checked in," Satsuki said with a sigh. Naruto rightly looked sheepish, "Yeah sorry, we should get going though," Naruto said. Satsuki and Mito nodded and the three stood up. "Now let's get going," Naruto said. The three started tree jumping to the village the jonin exams were taking place in, which was kumogakure. 

           "Man I remember the Jonin exams, it was really easy but the people were being so annoying!" Naruto muttered as they finally got past the last checkpoint. "Now let's see, we need to go to the hotel five minutes from here if we shunshin to get checked in," Naruto said as he pointed in the direction they had to go to. The three shunshinned to the hotel. "Okay Mito, this is where you go on your own," Naruto told her before he and Satsuki went up to the hotel room. 

"Mito Namikaze huh," the girl in the front muttered as she looked at the form for the jonin exams. "Raikage-Sama was not pleased to hear that Minato Namikaze wasn't dead," She said as she let Mito pass. Mito just gave her a pat on the back. "You're the Raikage's assistant, aren't you. Well, it's a good thing you are because you're probably the only one to be able to calm him down," Mito told her as she kept walking. 

"NOW CONTESTANTS!" Ay loudly yelled for all of the jonin hopefuls to hear. "WE WIL BE STARTING THE FIRST PART OF THESE EXAMS! THE FIRST EXAM IS A MASS FIGHT! EACH PERSON HAS A TAG ON THEM!" Ay yelled, causing a tag to poof on each person. "AND YOU MUST CAPTURE ONE! NOW BEGIN!" Ay finished. The ground dropped under them, leading into an underground arena. Mito grimaced slightly. She was the only Konoha shinobi there. She quickly put on her dragon mask, knowing it would draw some attention but knew it was the only way to prevent her from being targetted. Immediately, she was charged by two Kumo shinobi. She jumped into the air and elegantly tossed two kunai into their skulls, effectively killing them. "Well that's two tags," Mito said as she walked up to the lady who was the Raikage's assistant. "Here you go!" Mito said with a grin and walked back to her room. 

Mito arrived in the hotel room to see Satsuki and Naruto discussing how to prevent themselves from being targets without using chakra, as chakra would draw too unwanted attention. She then noticed Naruto had a katana next to him when he turned to Mito. "HEY MITO!" Naruto yelled. "Nice going with passing! Anyway, I made you this katana out of radium and chakra metal like your tanto!" Naruto said as he handed her the katana. The scabbard was pure black with golden streaks and where the golden streaks ended there were golden dragon heads. Mito unsheathed the blade. The blade was a long and elegant jet black blade with red and white strips near the sharp edge. The blade had a simple disc guard with a metal handle that had a leather grip. Off of the bottom of the handle, for design, there was a golden dragon head, with the face pointed at the bottom. The blade was truly elegant and beautiful. "WOW, THANKS!" Mito yelled like a kid who just got a birthday present. Naruto smiled. "No problem. Hey I think your mom is going to get you another katana, so do you want to learn how to dual wield after this?" Naruto asked. Mito nodded with excitement. "Good! Now rest up, tomorrow is part two of the exam," Naruto said.

Time Skip To Next Day

Mito went to the area outside of the hotel labeled "Part 2" and saw less than half of the people remained. She slid on her mask again. "NOW CONTESTANTS! FOR THE NEXT EXAM IT IS SIMPLY A FREE FOR ALL! JUST LIKE YESTERDAY, AS WE NEED TO FINISH WEEDING OUT THE WEAKLINGS!" The Raikage yelled. Mito just sighed loudly. "Do I sense disrespect?" The Raikage said deeply and quietly. Naruto was just watching from the upper area, his kitsune mask on. "INTERESTING!" Naruto said loudly. The Raikage looked up at Naruto. "You," he whispered quietly. "Yes, me. Now are you going to continue with this exam or not?" Naruto asked mockingly. The Raikage let out a growl before sighing. "NOW BEGIN!" He yelled. Mito just tossed a kunai at the back of some dude's head and grabbed his tag, before turning it into the dark-skinned lady and going back to the hotel room. 

Naruto was still on the upper area of the spectator platform of the second exam when he felt someone land next to him. "Nice for you to visit me, Ay," Naruto said. Immediately, he was surrounded by anbu, who suddenly fell over, knocked out. "You're an insolent little brat!" Ay growled. Naruto smirked. "I'm not insolent, I'm just giving you the respect you deserve and I'm confident in my own abilities," Naruto replied smugly. Ay just grunted. "So what did the great Raikage come to me to talk about?" Naruto asked. "How did you move so fast?" Ay asked quickly. Indeed he was surprised, as even though he and the boy's father were the two fastest shinobi in their time, he didn't even notice Naruto move before he was knocked out. "I moved fast because I just did," Naruto said. Ay stood silently for a minute. "Now it appears my student, Mito Namikaze, has just finished her part of the exam, so I should be off," Naruto told Ay. Ay merely nodded and went his own way.

Time Skip To Next Day Again

It had come down to the final fight, the final set of fights at least. Naruto smirked, Mito would wipe the floor easily. The first few rounds were boring, Mito wiped the floor with all of hers using the hiraishin, until the final match came. A large bulky man who looked about twenty and wore a Kumogakure headband jumped down for the final match. "So I have to fight a girl huh?" The guy asked with an incredulous tone. Mito looked up at Naruto. "Go ahead! You can take off the strength limiters!" Naruto yelled. Mito nodded and a large wave of pressure spread over the entire battlefield, scaring Mito's opponent. "Just how strong is she?" He muttered to himself. Mito then suddenly appeared in front of the large man and punched his gut, sending him flying. "Well that wasn't too bad," The guy said. "That was only a weak punch," Mito said, speaking for the first time in the entire exam. "Let's see how you handle a normal punch," Mito said as she suddenly appeared in front of the guy, punching him properly. He flew up into the air and Mito took off after him. She appeared in front of his face, kicking him farther up before throwing a hiraishin kunai above him, teleporting to it and kicking him downward, sending him into the ground. Mito tossed her hiraishin kunai, teleporting to it and landing elegantly. "I didn't even need to use my katana!" Mito exclaimed. The guy groaned as he got up. Mito then kicked him in the temple, knocking him out. "Welp, Mito's made jonin for sure!" Naruto said grinning.

Time skip one month

Mito watched as a group of pigeons dropped her a jonin vest. "Coolio!" Mito said as she put it on. "Congratulations Mito, now you're an official Jonin!"
