I ran out of the stadium as quick as I could! Rio sprinted after me. I sat at a bench nearby then dove my head into my palms and started bawling."Hey stop that!" Rio spoke urgently.
"That was your first match ever! You're gonna get better!" He continued, in a more calm tone.
"YOU SUCK!" A high pitched voice called from by the stadium. It was Katherine.
"Hey leave her alone! It was her first match!" Rio screamed.
Kimberly giggled.
"It might as well be her last. All she did was fly off the mat. I didn't see a drop of water."
I wiped my tears and stood up quickly. I clenched my fists at my sides and water surrounded them in an orb shape. My face was scrunched up. I was livid!
"Oh now you wanna bend?" Kimberly added; her disposition unbothered.
"You don't scare me! At all!" Kimberly barked as she started to approach me.
"And you don't scare me either!" I bended a stream of water towards her but she quickly evaporated it with a blaze of fire! She then aimed her hands towards me; her hands were in a clam like posture.
Rio ran in-between us.
"Stop it you two! If the wrong person finds out you're dueling out side of class you'll be dead!"
Kimberly sighed before getting out of her bending stance. Kimberly walked over to Rio, his face sported an angry scowl. She placed her finger on his shoulder before he took a step back. He glared at her.
"I wanted to finish her! At least you agree that she sucks! You're just sugar coating it with 'it's her first match.' BooHooHooooo! It was shitty trash, and I honestly don't see what you see in her! I'll be here when you're ready to come back to your one true love." Kimberly mocked before strutting off into the distance.
I sat back at the bench. Rio came and sat across from me.
"Are you okay?" He asked putting his hand on top of mine on the table. I reached my hand back and bended water from a fountain a few feet away from us, and splashed it in his face.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" I screamed. My tears began to stream again.
"I'm just trying to help!" He exclaimed, a confused look on his face.
"Kimberly is right! I suck, and you agree!" I cried.
"I don't think that you suck!"
"Well why didn't you say anything to her before she left!"
I glared at Rio, he had a puppy dog look on his face.
"Because I wanted her to leave!" He stood up and threw his arms out downwards.
I turned my back to him as I began to cry even harder.
"You can't help me Rio! I have to help myself." I choked through my cries as I stormed off towards the main campus.
Gigi and Karmen ran after me.
"Wait up Stella!" Karmen called out. They followed me inside the main building.
"To hell with him girl! You don't need him and his bullshit! There are plenty of guys to choose from!" Gigi exclaimed.
"But he does seem like he really cares for you. I think his bitchy ex is the real problem." Karmen added as we walked down the corridor.
"Fuck him! Fuck all of this! Kimberly was telling the truth! I'm weak! Rio never denied it, and I looked like a fool in front of the entire school today!" My eyes started to swell with tears.
