Inside the president's mahogany colored coded office President Ruth glared over towards me as I made my way to my way to the chestnut leather chair in front of her broad hardwood— clean polished desk.

"Have a seat!" She demanded.

My tear-filled eyes looked hopeless as I sat across from President Ruth.

"I'm sure you know why I called you here today.." She continued.

"YOU ARE HORRIBLE! CRAP! And if you think you're going to attend my academy performing the way you've been, you have another thing coming for you missy! Isn't your boyfriend the captain of the dueling team? Can't he teach you a thing or two?" President Ruth asked a genuinely puzzled look across her face.

"He's not my boyfriend, and I know I should be doing bett—"

"Yeah you should! You should be doing way better! Let me give you a little brush up on the way things work around here: You MUST duel at least twice a week! By the end of the semester you must win at least sixty percent of your duels to pass! You have failed your two duels for the week which puts you at a whopping zero percent wins for the semester! Do you know what that means? Do I have to spell it out for you? YOU! ARE! FAILINGGGGGG! Omashu Academy has a special place for failing students, the dungeon!"

I gasped.

"Please President Ruth, I don't want to go to the dungeon!" I pleaded. My eyes began to swell with tears.

"As of now you have a first class ticket there with your name on it! Luckily for you we allow students to duel more than twice a week if they so choose. Every duel after your mandatory two counts as extra credit and can only help but not hurt your grade. So let me spell it out for you again, since you seem to lack in multiple areas... Every extra credit duel you complete will only help your overall grade percentage! If you duel twice again this week and win both, your two failed duels will be canceled out, thus your new grade percentage will be one hundred percent! That's a little math for you, I hope you aren't lacking there too! Also, if you fail the duels it won't drag your grade down thankfully because yours is already at rock bottom!" President Ruth screamed.

"So I just have to win two duels and I won't be have to go to the dungeon?"

"That's exactly right! Would you like me to add you to the list for tomorrow?"

"Yup."

"Great! Go practice. You need it." President Ruth never cracked a smile, but she did seem as if she genuinely wanted to help.

I nodded while flashing back to our conversation while also trying to forget my duel from twenty minutes ago.

I walked out of her office and back into one of the schools many corridors. Gigi and Karmen waited for me outside.

"Holy shit! I thought you might be going to the dungeon!" Gigi screamed before hugging me tightly.

"Well she did threaten to send me there." I replied.

Gigi and Karmen gasped.

"That's the same thing I said!" I replied.

"What did she say?" Karmen asked.

"Basically that I have to compete two more times this week if I want a passing grade, if not I might be going to the dungeon!" I looked over to both of the girls afraid.

"We will break you out of this motherfucker before you ever have to go to the dungeon!" Gigi exclaimed; her face lit up with anger.

"Hell yeah!" Karmen added.

"I definitely think we should have an escape plan, but for now I need to find Candy!"

"Candy? Oh, you mean the bomb ass water bender on the dueling squad!" Gigi spoke.
