"And then did you strike. A torment you had once undergone today became your reply"
- Ranbir Kohli
She was just two steps away from him when her eyes fell on the makeshift wall behind him. Her eyes widened and without another thought she rushed towards him and pushed him away just in time as it collapsed. The impact of her push had pushed them both to the floor with him on the floor and her atop, his guitar pricking both him and her. It took a moment for all to recover after which a few people rushed towards them and helped them back to their feet. After enquiring if the two were alright, the people left to take care of the damage caused by the collapse leaving them behind. While she stood struggling with her feelings and the question as to why she saved him, he stood processing the fact that she had saved him despite her apparent hate. It took them a few more moments before their brains intervened and gave them the answer overruling the heart's truth. Both believed Prachi did it because she dint want him to die considering she wanted to torment him. Explaining this to himself, he turned towards her and slowly said a Thank You. She nodded and left from there .
As she moved out setting her dupatta right, her hands met with something stuck to her salwar. She removed it with a frown and saw that it was a locket. It dint take a genius to guess it was Ranbir's. She turned to go and return it to him but then thought otherwise. Maybe it would be of some use to her.

Placing his damaged guitar on the sofa, he lied down closing his eyes and resting his head against the cushion. His hands went towards his neck to feel his locket which was very special for him and to which he was emotionally attached since it was the last thing his mother had gifted him before their accident. His eyes snapped open when he couldn't feel it against his neck. Where was it?
"O God! No! No!No!" he shook his head and began looking for it frantically. He looked all around, retraced his steps and even reached the venue of his show but to no avail. His breaths grew erratic even as sweat beads formed on his forehead. Panic of a different sort gripped him even as losing the locket felt like losing his family all over again. His heartbeats accelerated even as his body started trembling. His fingers felt shaky and numb. He could feel himself losing consciousness but he held on, hoping against hope to find it. He clutched the object next to him which happened to be a pole and tried to think straight but to no avail as weakness seemed to overpower him bit by bit. He began walking, looking around helplessly and desperately, trying to hold onto his consciousness as much as possible.

He did not realize where he even reached due to the slight disorientation. He was panting hard but all that his mind was stuck on was the locket. He looked around again, painful tears welling his eyes. He had to find it at any cost! That was the last he had of his mother. He couldn't afford to lose it!
"Mumma" he tearfully whispered. That's when he spotted a house which looked familiar. It took him a moment more to recognize that this was her house! A strong wave surged through him, the fading remnants of slight hope burning to light as the possibility of her having the locket calmed him a bit. He rushed towards her house and rang the bell, uncaring about the time. He kept ringing the bell till he heard footsteps behind the door which opened to reveal her dressed in a long full sleeved shirt and night pants, her hairs tied in a rough bun.

"You here? What is it?" she asked coldly, uncaring about the condition he seemed to be in.
"Lo-locket? M-my locket...You have it right? G-give it to me" he uttered breathlessly
"Locket? What locket?" she asked feigning ignorance.
"I know you have it. P-please g-give it! Give it back to me! I beg you! That's all I have remaining of my mother. That's her last gift. I-It means a-a l-lot to m-me. P-Please give it to me" he begged folding his hands even as he collapsed on his knees due to exhaustion.
She dint utter a word. She just kept looking at him, her face devoid of anything. Tears slipped his eyes, flowing freely even as his body shuddered. His breathing which had calmed a bit grew erratic again. His hands trembled vigorously even as his stomach and heart twisted in pain and agony respectively. But despite everything he pleaded. He hadn't ever felt this helpless as he did at the present moment. He muttered brokenly, his voice choking.
"Please let her go" she pleaded with tears streaming down her eyes.
Her body shuddered with pain and panic but she kept pleading. Her consciousness was fading yet she kept pleading. Her broken foot ached but all she could register was her sister's desperate howls for help and her pleads to let her go. But the woman remained unaffected.
"Diiiiiiiiii!" her sister's frantic cry reached her ears and that's when she felt the most helpless. She pleaded brokenly but to no avail. That was the day she had died one of her several deaths.
"P-please r-return I-It" he uttered weakly but she stood there unmoved. Her eyes steeled, watching his suffering she stood, her heart feeling a little light. His pleading eyes did nothing but pull off one splinter out of the many jabbed in her heart.
He ultimately collapsed, his body no longer able to contain his panic and emotional breakdown. She looked at his unconscious form. His face had tear stains and his breaths were yet to calm. He looked extremely vulnerable and broken. She could feel his helplessness even from his unconscious form. She crouched next to him and pushed the strands falling on his face away. Sucking in a deep breath, she finally collapsed next to him , onto her knees. Tears flowed down, much against her will even as she kept gazing at him, a tinge of agony painted on her steeled orbs.
