I have always said, your wounds run deep and that I need to get destroyed to restore you back. But our tale isn't just that, is it? It has thrived on limited extremities and a number of subtle moments.
-Ranbir Kohli[ N O T E: Trigger warning]
She sat on the bathroom floor, her body shivering due to the cold water pouring on her. The memory of her bitter past brought back the same disgust she had felt then. Her nails dug into the skin of her shoulders as she slowly but rashly tore open her dress. Disturbed was a very small word to describe what she felt. The disgust intensified even as those sounds echoed in her ears. Screams formed in her throat but they never found a voice. Silence never felt this killing. It felt as if she had been pushed into all of it again. Like life had played a cruel joke and pushed her back in time to the worst phase of her life!
Her eyes burned with tears but they provided no relief as they flowed out. Her head felt heavy throbbing with a gush of horrible memories. She looked about frantically, agitated beyond her comprehension. That's when her eyes spotted the thing which could give her relief! She stood up on her feet and reached for it. Grabbing it she ran it over the red mark over her skin. The scarlet that lined the edge gave peace to her red eyes. They trickled down her skin and mingled with the drops of ice cold water, ultimately flowing away to someplace unknown. She ran it over her bruises again. It felt good. It really did!

He reached home and sat down on the sofa. His heart felt overwhelmingly heavy with guilt and sadness. Maybe he shouldn't have done it. Her sight from when her eyes fell on that show haunted him, playing before his eyes repeatedly. The impact of just one glimpse was much more than what he had seen the other day. The other day he had seen tears filling her eyes but today, he had seen her going numb.
No! He shouldn't have done that! He should have just left it!He stood up and paced around. He shouldn't have hurt her is what roamed about in his mind. But then his resolve and everything that has happened so far also played in his mind confusing him.
Layers and layers pile up to form a rock, aided by wind and storm. Grief, trauma and unexpressed emotions pent up within, aided by suppression, numbness and obliviousness which is when that person becomes akin to a rock. It isn't their choice. It's just their adaptation to whatever's happened. When life throws challenges at you, puts you through difficult, devious, pathetic and/or trying situations, you metamorphose either shedding off a layer or developing one. Each person has their own way of dealing with grief and the situations they are put through.
But you should remember, no life is deserving of a stoned human. If we were to be that, we wouldn't have been gifted with life and senses.
Such people are difficult to interact with. They hide their pains and sufferings, away from their own conscience beneath layers. All you have to do to heal them is shed off those layers.
Venom cuts venom, that's a common saying. Pain cuts pain, that's an approach. To storm them with overwhelming emotions is the only way to break the walls created due to these negatively overwhelming emotions in the first place.
It is necessary to understand that sometimes, hurt is the solution to heal a greater hurt. This was what he had read in a book sometime back and it had stayed with him. And now at this moment, it answered his confusion.
He had come so far and he dint want to go back now. He will heal her, be it whatever the price he has to pay for it!

Of all the things, he hadn't expected her to turn up at his program the very next day. He was surprised. Since that day she hadn't visited any of his concerts and after what happened the day before, he dint expect her at all. A smile formed on his face at her sight. She still had the same look but her eyes spoke a different language of their own. For the first time he could see something different in her eyes and he dint understand how to perceive it.
She walked towards the front row and occupied the front seat. He felt even more surprised. What was she upto?
The cue from the manager standing at the side prompted him to go ahead with the show and give a thought about all of this later. Only he dint know what was awaiting him!
Tere bina jeena kya
Tere bina jeena kyun
Tere bina jeena kya
Tere bina jeena kyun
Tujhe kaise bataye yaara
Tere bin mujhpe kya guzare
Woh zindagi hain hi nahi jo tujhse judaa guzre…
Dhal Jaun Main Tujhme
Ghul Jaun Main Tujhme
Mil Jaun Main Tujhme Yaara……His eyes found hers as he sang and they stayed. She too couldn't move her eyes away. There was something in the air between them. There was no pull, nothing cinematic yet something which bound them in that moment. Her reply, her revenge, his resolve and his plan - all of them were pushed to the side as they looked at each other.
Subtle, tranquil and captivating was what the moment felt.Kahin se bhi chalun main
Kahin se guzrun main
Tujhi se aa milun main yaara o..Mera tere siva koi aur nahi
Tu na hona khafa kabhi mujhse….He completed the song still gazing into her eyes and then finally turned away from her and smiled at the audience clapping for him.
She took a moment more to come out of that and it flashed to her a moment late what she had been doing all this while. She felt anger creep within her. What the hell was wrong with her?
Taking deep breaths she diverted her entire attention to what she had come here for.
"It's time for the next strike!"
