"And thus started our journey of love and hate, a key to the closet of locked memories transformed to the first call of this battle"
- Ranbir Kohli

It took her a lot of time to stabilise herself. The sorrow then transformed to enormous anger. She picked up the letter lying by and scanned it for a name.

Ranbir Kohli

The name itself emnated a certain warmth, reminding her of that stranger she had met in the park that day. Were they the same by any chance?

Her teeth clenched and fists curled and uncurled at the anger bubbling in her. She immediately picked up her phone and instructed a particular person to find out about the guy behind the letter.

Some days later

Walking down the path, surrounded by trees she looked around, feeling the cold breeze  over her face. With no thoughts frequenting her mind like always , she just looked at the tall trees and the mildly pleasant weather.
That's when she heard a voice which made her halt

Tere dil ka mere dil se
Rishta purana hain
Teri aankhon se har aasun
Mujhko churana hain

Mujhko churana hain.....
Mujhko churana hain.

The soothing melody and the pain starkly palpable in the voice made her stand rooted to her spot. Her eyes closed inadvertently as she began to feel the pain of the singer somewhere deep within herself.
She wasn't supposed to but she did! Moreover she did not even realise what she was doing.

He hadn't known what he buried within, trying to just recall fond memories of a long passed childhood which gave him a lot but snatched from him as well, would ever come back to lend him as vulnerable as before. But sitting on the black seat of the restaurant, with everybody's eyes on him, his eyes spotted just one thing which was enough to bring back all that he thought he had let go of long ago.

A small family of 4 was seated at the corner. The father was feeding baby food to the little girl on his lap while she animatedly moved her fingers in the air, all the while slurping at what she was being fed. Opposite him was a woman elegantly dressed in silver, looking adoringly at her son who was eating his Mushroom noodles happily. This was a normal sight of a small, happy family but it brought back a similar memory to his mind.

A similar image of a family flashed in his mind. The woman there too was dressed in silver, her mangalsutra gleaming in the dim light of the restaurant. She was adoringly looking at her son too busy in stuffing his mouth with food. Right infront, a young girl dressed in blue frock was happily swallowing her baby food, all the while playing with the small spoon on the table, flashing her toothless smile every now and then.

"Mumma Papa Mishti " he silently murmured even as a lone tear drop trickled down his eyes.

Screech, shouts and then complete darkness. That was all he remembered when he woke up on a hospital bed, his head and arm wrapped in bandages. His leg was kept at an angle, wrapped completely by a white bandage stained red at all random places. His head throbbed with immense pain even as he felt himself at the edge of nowhere, the pain numbing his senses and also bringing in mild consciousness.

"Mumma? Papa? Mishu?" he whispered and kept chanting their names.

He felt a warm caress on his forehead and a soothing voice speak to him.

"I'm sorry beta but they are in the land of angels now"

And he was pushed back into the clutches of darkness again!

"Oh young man! Where are you lost? We pay you to entertain us by singing, not for you to dream with open eyes! Continue with the second song!" A rude and loud voice called out bringing him back.

"Hmm....
Yaa dil ki suno duniya waalon
Yaa mujhko abhi chip rehne do
Main gam ko khushi kaise keh doon
Jo kehte hain unko kehne do
Yaa dil ki suno duniya waalon.

Yeh phool chaman me kaisa khila
Maali ki nazar me pyaar nahi
Haste hue kya kya dekh liya
Ab behte hain aasun behne do

Yaa dil ki suno duniya waalon.....

The entire ambience turned melancholic as people had tears in their eyes hearing the pain in his voice. The man who had reprimanded him sometime ago too was standing with tears in his eyes. That was impact of his singing.

She entered the restaurant in a trance as if her legs had a mind of their own. In the first time in years had she been so affected! Nothing had moved her till now! Maybe because she hadn't met him till then!

He ended his song and finally opened his eyes. The sight he saw left him surprised.

It was her!

She was standing right infront, lost completely. Her eyes were closed and she was swaying slightly.

"It's her!"
