"Meeting you would be in such a way, I had never imagined. But then, being drawn to you was inevitable for who has been able to save the moth from the flame"
-Ranbir Kohli

And thus their saga concluded with Avery gathering his remains, treasuring it for a lifetime as it was what was left, of what was theirs....

"What a marvellous piece of art this is!! This story is beyond words Ms. Mehra!" Vikram said animatedly shaking his hands in excitement. His publication house would publish yet another masterpiece by Prachi Mehra and surely this time too, the book would garner millions of people as audience.

She nodded her head without a single expression on her face making his joy dampen a bit as well. He wasn't aware of why she was such - cold and bitter. Infact it marvelled him to what extent her stories contrasted her own personality. But having worked with her since so long, he had grown accustomed to this demeanour of hers. And so it did not matter anymore since she surely gave the publishing house a lot of profit.

"I'll get the procedure started. You'll be informed when the books would be up after publication." he said.

"Ok" she said curtly and left from the office. The walk to her home from the publication office was about an hour but she did not mind walking that much, considering she wanted to be as far from socialising as possible.

After about 20 mins, she landed infront of a park with no one visible for a change. She got in and selecting a bench, sat on it.

The cold breeze played with her ebony hair, the lavender scent emnating from her tresses spreading all around in the air. She was an epitome of subtle beauty who could enchant any mortal being. But her frozen pools containing a blazing fire within and the way her lips never eased into a smile made anybody trying to get close, saunter off. She was through and through an enigma!

The feel of the cold breeze against her already cold being felt soothing for her. The shivers running down her body which was all but shielded by one jacket upon a jumpsuit, set in a strange sense of satisfaction in her. The blue of her shivering fingers, the numbness it set in her body and the notion of no longer feeling anything made her sigh in relief and her eyes closed automatically. It felt good!

But then she felt something warm covering her body and her eyes snapped open, blazing with anger. Who had dared to stall her torment? Who had dared to provide her comfort??

"Yeh hain gumraahon ka raasta
Muskaan jhooti hain, pehchaan jhooti hain
Rangeen hain chayi, phir bhi hain tanhaai...." he sang even as he walked down the street, smiling at the people amusedly watching him singing.

This was one of his favourite songs for what it conveyed and portrayed was the reality unaltered. Hugging the jacket closer to himself due to the biting cold, he walked about, looking around. The snow covering the surfaces amongst which small saplings push open to thrive, colouring the land with white, brown and green, making it a sight too wonderful to ignore felt so good to see. The air felt unusual today even as he felt frozen whispers of the cold breeze gently against his ears as if trying to convey something. With that a lavender fragrance wafted in the air, making him stop abruptly in his tracks. His heart skipped a beat even as he restlessly looked around for the source. And that's when he spotted her!

But one look at her and his eyes widened. She was dressed in just a jumpsuit and a thin jacket which was as good as worthless in protecting her frail form from this cold! He immediately rushed towards her and covered her with his jacket, making her eyes snap open. What he saw in them left him taken aback as he could see a blazing fire in her eyes. His brows creased in genuine confusion at her reaction for he did not expect that from her.

"How dare you?" she said, her fists and teeth clenched and her eyes akin to glowing embers.

Her eyes snapped open only to see a young man infront of her, his amber eyes holding concern and worry. His complexion being really white made him look like the moon glowing in the night sky. The cold breeze played with his blonde hair, making a few strands flow freely. The aura he radiated was full of warmth making her clench her fists in immense anger.

Ice detests heat and so she detested him right that very instant!

She could see his brows crease increasing her anger.

"I dare what?" he asked, his voice akin to a soothing caress with an imbibed warmth and concern she had been bereft of since long. This made her clench her fists harder, her sharp nails digging into her palm mercilessly.

"Take this off me right now!" she yelled deepening his confusion.

"Ah.. what?" he asked absurdly, not able to put a finger on what had triggered her such.

She glared at him and taking the jacket off, threw it on his face and stormed away, leaving him completely shocked!
