"Whatcha doin P?" Mom asked as she sat down on the couch next to me. "Posting on Instagram, replying to uncle Finneas, you know the usual stuff." I said with a slight smile.
" Yeah I'm looking forward to dinner tonight it's been a while since we've all been in the same room you know?" Billie said. "Yeah I'm a little nervous though.." I trailed off. "What are you nervous about?" She asked as she picked up the tv remote.
"What if they don't like me?" I asked as I looked up at her. "Parker what are you talking about?" Billie asked.
"What if they think I'm great before they get here and then they meet me and decide that I'm not who they thought I was?" I questioned as I felt myself getting anxious. "Parker they're going to love you." She assured me.
"They sound like great people maybe you're right." I said as I grabbed my water bottle from the coffee table and took a sip. "I know I'm right for now do you just want to watch a movie to get your mind off of it?" She asked as I nodded.
*Time Skip to later in the day*
I took a shower and got ready to meet mom's family. I put on a baggy Pink Floyd t-shirt and cuffed my light wash jeans that were a size too big for me. I did some light makeup and put on a beanie. I put on some perfume I bought a few days ago, grabbed my phone and ran downstairs.
My moms were sitting on the couch downstairs talking and being all cute with each other. God I wish I could find love like that. "Hey moms do you think I look okay for dinner?" I asked unsure of my outfit.
"Yeah sweetie you look great!" Fallon said with a smile. "You have a great sense of style, your outfits are always amazing why ask us now?" Billie asked kind of already knowing the answer.
"I just want to make sure I look presentable and make a good first impression." I said with a sigh as I sat next to her on the couch. "P we've been over this they're going to love you." Billie said with a slight chuckle as she turned to me as the door bell rang and the oven timer went off.
"I'll get it bil can you take the food out of the oven please?" She asked. "Yeah no problem Fal." Billie said standing up and taking the food out of the oven as Fallon answered the door, Maggie Patrick, and Finneas walked in and they made small talk I sat nervously on the couch until they completely walked into the living room.
"Hi Parker sweetie you're so beautiful! I'm Maggie this is my husband Patrick, and my son Finneas." Maggie exclaimed as she came to hug me I stood up and gave her a hug as I thanked her for the compliment.
"Hi! It's so great to meet you." I said with a smile as I gave Patrick a hug as well. "It's great to meet you too." Patrick said returning the hug as he smiled. "I'm pretty sure you already know who I am." Finneas said with a light laugh.
"Yeah I think some of your fans have started to notice me. I've gained like 100 followers since we talked in my comment section." I said with another laugh before Billie interjected in the conversation.
"Yeah I swear these kids are like international superspies or something the way they find things out in such a short amount of time all on their own is crazy." As soon as she said that my mind immediately went to the TikTok audio that goes, I'm An InTeRnAtIoNaL sUpEr SpY!!
"Parker you there?" Finn asked as he nudged my shoulder. "Yeah sorry I zoned out for a second there." I said with a chuckle. "After we eat dinner do you want to play Monopoly with your moms? I think it'll be fun." Finneas suggested.
"Yes oh my gosh I haven't played that game in forever!" I said excitedly as we all made our way over to the table and ate. This dinner is going way better than I thought it would. They actually like me.
This is so much better than the other family dinners at the orphanage. Usually there's someone fighting over who stole who's clothes because nothing can ever be lost it's always stolen. The only two actually sane people were me and my best friend Gavin he got adopted two years ago. He didn't have a phone neither did I so we never stayed in contact. God I miss him so much some times.
"Hey Parker you sure you're okay?" Finneas asked noticing I zoned out again. "Yeah sorry just thinking about a friend of mine." I said as he nodded. For the rest of the night we played board games. Grandma and Grandpa went home to their house, Finneas went to his. Over all it was a really good night and It was very positive.
The Uncles didn't end up making it to dinner Momma never really told me why but it doesn't really matter the night was fun regardless even if I was hoping to see them tonight.
"See Parker you had nothing to worry about they loved you." Billie said with a smile as she walked into my room. I was sitting on my bed in my night clothes reading a book. I put a bookmark in my book and put it on my night stand. "Yeah I think It went really well." I said as I nodded.
"It did they couldn't stop talking about you when Fallon and I walked them out to their car. It was adorable." She said with a laugh.
We both said goodnight and she went to her room. This was the best family dinner to date.
