Chapter 6: Growing Feelings

After the incident of Ricky and Nini almost kissing...they both had a boost of confidence with each other. They've started to accept the fact that they know their catching feelings for each other...they still didn't want to admit it though.

It was the next morning and Nini was getting ready to go to the mall with her friends as Ricky walked into her room hoping to maybe steal a hug before she left.

"Hey" Ricky greeted her.

Nini jumps, "Bowen! You need to come with a warning or something."

He lets out a small laugh. Nini turns to face him.

"So...how do I look?" She questions, while doing some modeling poses.

He laughs a little, "Eh...like normal."

"Which is...?" She asks confused.

"Oh, you know...like you walked through a hurricane. Maybe even a tornado?" He laughs again.

"You...are so annoying." She says as she stares back into the mirror.

"Nah...I'm messing with you. You look...great. You're wearin my favorite color" He smiles.

Nini looks down at her shirt, smiling.

"Ah...that's right. Red."

When Ricky mentioned that...she felt butterflies in her stomach. She knew very well that red was his favorite color. She wanted to see if he would notice and when he did...it made her happy.

Nini's phone buzzes.

"Oh...I gotta run! But...we can hang out later?" She smiles.

"Of course..." He smiles back.

As she walked out of the bathroom Ricky grabbed her hand and pulled her into another hug. The usual, hands around her waist and her arms wrapped up around his neck with her hands in his hair. They hugged for a minute then let go of each other and smiled.

"See ya later...Ricky."

Ricky smiled but, on the inside, he was puzzled. She had never called him "Ricky" before. It was always "Bowen", which he didn't mind.

{At the mall}

"Neens! Over here!"

Nini looked around and saw Kourtney, Ashlyn, and Gina waving her down. She rushed over to them.

"Hey guys!" She exclaimed.

The girls greeted each other and exchanged a few hugs and then they were off on their mall trip. They walked into clothing stores, shoe stores, jewelry stores. But in one particular store, Nini's favorite clothing store, Gina, Ash, and Kourt noticed Nini doing something weird.

"Hey Neens...I don't think I've ever seen you buy red clothes...", Gina questions, "There always gifted to you...never bought by you?"

"Oh! Well, uh- ", Nini nervously laughs, "I like the color red and I think it suits me!"

"I mean it definitely looks good on you!" Gina assures her.

Nini smiles at her and then the girls continue their shopping trip.

{Back at her house}

Ricky is sitting on his bed trying to get Nini out of his head. Nothing's working so he decides to go get her a little gift. He drives to the Build-a-Bear store and then gets working.
