CHAPTER FOUR
~*~OLIVIA
With Aliza at her friends house it was just Ava and I doing groceries. I was pushing the shopping trolley while Ava held onto the side of it. "I'm just going to call Jesse's dad and check on how Aliza's doing." Come on, pick up, pick up. I'm getting really anxious now. Maybe it was a mistake to let her go. I started to push the trolley quicker "We're going to go get Aliza, I don't think it was a good idea to let her go" Ava nodded her head as the trolley crashed into something."Oh shit" my eyes shakily trailed their way up and were met with those sparkling green eyes I hadn't seen in five and a half years. "Sorry! I gotta go" I abandoned the trolley and grabbed Ava's hand and made a run for it. "Liv, wait!" Ava looked like she had seen a ghost "Mummy, what's the matter? Are you okay?" I shook my head "We need to go" those two broad arms quickly wrapped around me "Liv. Please, can we just talk?" I slowly spun around, keeping Ava behind me "Don't call me Liv. You've lost that privilege. What do you want?" A big sigh followed "I just wanted to see how you're doing after all these years. Look I'm sorry for what I did but I had a good reason, I don't expect you to forgive me." I rolled my eyes "I'm doing just fine after you broke my heart. I'm sure your reason was so good to leave your family." I spat back sarcastically. "Can we talk somewhere more private?" I shook my head "Absolutely not. I don't need to give you anything." He crossed his arms "Liv–..Olivia. Baby come on, please" I pointed my finger on his chest "Don't you 'baby' me, Daniel. I don't need to hear whatever pathetic reason you're planning on telling me. You've done enough, just let me go" my eyes watered and I bit my lip anxiously as his eyes trailed behind me. He bent down quickly "Is that her?.." his face showed that raw emotion I hadn't seen for a long time. "That's none of your business, Daniel!" He stood up again, walking towards me "It is my business if that's my own flesh and blood, Olivia!" I turned around, picking Ava up and hiding her face in my chest "Don't move, please" I said in a stern whisper. "I'll talk to you later" I muttered as I ran out of the store and darted to the car, buckling her in as fast as I could. He wasn't far behind me, I knew I wouldn't make it into the car quick enough so I locked it as he pinned me against the car. "Would you just let me go already? You're going to give her trauma" I watched as he brought his lips to my ear, nibbling on it softly like he always used to do "Would you just– ugh fuck you. You know how much I used to love that so don't use it against me" he smirked "When?" I rolled my eyes "When what?" He chuckled "Fuck me. When do you want to?" I groaned, pushing him away "You're so disgusting." He pushed my hair behind my ear "It's not like you haven't before" he said, playfully wiggling his eyebrows. "Daniel Jacob Hues! How dare you!" He sighed "I'm just trying to lighten up the mood, sunshine" I pushed past him "Believe me, you've done enough." His hand gripped my chin tightly "Just answer the question and I'll go." He growled, I sighed "Yes.. it's Ava" tears flowed from his eyes "That's my..baby in there? My little baby?" He asked surprised, I nodded my head in response. "Can I speak to her please? Or at least look at her?" I sighed "Look I know she's your daughter too, but she doesn't even know about you so nows not the right time for you to play happy family and become her hero. She doesn't know what you've done or what you've put us through. Goodbye Daniel." His grip loosened and he walked away "Goodbye Liv" I groaned, ignoring him as I got into the car and broke down into tears of frustration. After a few minutes I cut the tears off and cleared my throat "I know you have plenty of questions Ava, go ahead" she shook her head "It's okay mummy, I know you don't want to talk about it. Obviously that man isn't very nice" I bit my lip anxiously, I'm allowed to hate him but hearing those words from his daughter when she doesn't even know him hurt. "We just had a big fight many years ago sweetheart, that's all. That's why mummy wasn't happy to see him." She stayed silent for a moment "Were you good friends before you had a fight?" I nodded my head "We were very close, yes. Closer than you know, baby." She fumbled with her fingers "Are you going to be okay, mummy?" I sighed "I will be eventually, sweetheart. Please don't tell Aliza though, I just don't want to make her upset or scared." She nodded her head "Of course mummy.. what is the mans name?" I sighed "Daniel, his name is Daniel.."
