Chapter 15

''Bye boys'' Rose yelled as she jumped off Marko's bike and quickly ran to Max's store. She was late for work and had forgotten that she was babysitting Sam.

The boys waved and said their goodbyes as she ran into Max's store. They decided to drop the argument they had the night before. The last thing they wanted to do was push Rose away.

''Rose your half an hour late. Remember after your shift you have to babysit Lucy's boy'' Max complained

''Sorry Dad I'm having a few mate problems right now'' Rose hung up her coat and bag

''What's going on'' Max asked

Before Rose could reply, Lucy came out of the stockroom, box in her hands as she goes behind the counter ''Hello Rose'' she smiled ''Are you still okay for babysitting Sam''

''Yeah sure'' Rose smiled back ''He said he'd meet me on the boardwalk, he wants me to take him to the comic book store if that's okay''

''Of course'' Lucy smiled

Rose went behind the counter and began to serve customers. She looked outside and saw Michael, beckoning her over. Rose rolled her eyes and excused herself, walking outside to meet the curly-haired boy

''What do you want'' she asked coldly

''I know you're mad at me. And you have every right to be'' he began

''Too right'' Rose mumbled

Michael ignored her ''And I shouldn't have spoken to you that way. Or leave you for them. I'll make it up to you. But there's something else...I'm not feeling normal. What's happening to me, Rose?''

''Really? How will you do that'' Rose crossed her arms, ignoring his question

''Let me take you on a date. I'll pay for it'' he said, leaning his arm on the wall

Rose smirked a little ''I'll think about it. Tell your brother to meet me near the sweet shop''

Michael nodded slightly ''I told you not to drink from the bottle. You'll see soon''

''What's that supposed to mean'' Michael asked

''Nevermind. Enjoy the rest of your night'' Rose turned around and went back inside

''Rose'' Michael said

Rose stopped and turned around slightly ''Yeah''

''You look good'' he looked down nervously

Rose smiled ''Your not so bad yourself'' she turned back around and went inside, leaving Michael as he leaned against the wall, punching the air happily

''See you late, Lucy''' Rose put on her leather jacket and flipping her hair. Then turning around and grabbing her bag ''tell my dad I say bye''

''Will do. And thanks again'' Lucy replied

''No worries'' Rose smiled at her and walked out of the store

Rose walked alone on the outskirts of the boardwalk, kicking a stone every so often as the breeze blew her hair back.

She always wanted to become a vampire before she became one. The lifestyle sounded so perfect and fun. She began thinking about what life would be like if she decided to not drink from the bottle. She denied to herself that she regretted her choices

Rose was snapped out of her thoughts as she was now in the centre of the boardwalk. Shoving past the crowds of people, she finally found Sam near the candy store ''Hey Sam'' she smiled
