My answer is... It shouldn't change your performance and if it does it should change it for the better.
It also depends on what kind of a person you are.
If breaking up with this person will change your performance and make you hate cheer then i advise you don't date anyone from the gym.
If you are one of those people who gets over things quickly and can leave problems like that off the mat then go for the relationship.
Generally i just advise not to date anyone from they gym. But if you really like this person and you can leave it off the mat then i am not against it. Not that you guys need my approval lol.
