Elena woke up, not feeling kind of migraine would bug her normally. It must be, she thought, it must be that man who talked to me yesterday. And Elena did not except the same man sitting next to her bed. She gasped with his sudden appearance now visible to her. "I did not mean to scare you, forgive me"
"It's fine" Elena nodded her head as she took a deep breath and let it out with her sigh. "Are you hungry?" Eliza asked, she looked hungry. Elena nodded, not bothering to hide her hunger. Eliza nodded and looked through the door firmly, he was always so serious. "Come in please" The servant with a tray he was carrying entered the room. "I was hoping we could talk while you are eating"
Elena just nodded and thanked servant who brought the tray. She looked at the things, the things she liked most. Omelette with a beagle and black coffee, Elena took a sip before biting her beagle. "I would like to talk about your parents, or your guardians"
She seemed hesitant, she knew Katerina's name would make the bomb effect. "Why?" Her voice came out as a whisper, making him reach for his pocket, taking the necklace out to her sight. Her heart skipped a beat, she wanted to reach to her necklace. "Who gave this to you?"
"My mother" She did not hesitate with her answer. Eliza sighed and looked at her with sadness. She was making it so hard for him and he did not really want to compel her for having the information. "Your parents passed away when you were two, Elena"
Elena bit her bottom lip with nervousness, she knew her parents were dead, she did not need a reminder. "The woman who raised me, gave it to me" She answered, she was not sure if there was a way to explain it more simply without revealing anything more. Eliza narrowed his eyes, he was not going to play her game. He looked directly into her eyes, knowing the effects of vervain was gone. "Who raised you, Elena?"
"Katherine Pierce" She could not believe how fast she was to answer him. She felt stupidly but overwhelmingly upset with the fact that Eliza compelled her. She thought he would care about her opinions or her space but seemed so, he was only caring about Elijah's requests.
Eliza's face fell down, Katerina Petrova raised that girl and he had a few guess why. And pathetically, all of them were wrong, wrong as hell. "Will you give my necklace back?" That was the only thing Elena could hope, still carrying a part from her family.
However Eliza left the room without saying anything. Elena's lips trembled and she removed the tray from her legs. She had to get out of this place, she was well aware of it now. She bit her bottom lip and closed her eyes, steadying her heartbeats slowly.
She realized her door was unlocked. If she could run out, she could find a way to find her house. Eliza would not probably bother her again so she was feeling a bit of more confident about running.
She stepped out of the room she was staying in and looked at the staircase in front of her. It looked like for her to use and escape. She was fine, she was going to be alright once she found Katherine.
She ran to the door and got out, only to hit Elijah's body in the process. Her eyes widened tried to back off, but she was not able to. "I am trying to help you Elena, but seems so, you don't need help" Elena hoped maybe he would release her but instead, he grabbed her arm and dragged her to the basement, where the cellars were.
Elena's screams filled the entire house, hoping someone would take pity on her to save her. However no one dared to, the staff in the kitchen looked down sadly as the poor girl got dragged down to the cellars, knowing she did not have a way to out. Not other than Elijah's change of mind.
"Please, let me go! Katherine can protect me!" Elijah practically threw her inside of the cellar and closed the door behind her. "Your choices had their consequences, now you are facing with them"
Elena's attitude changed in an instant and her eyes got wilder than usual. "You took me from my home, kidnapped me to God knows where and you expected me to be okay with it!"
"I was not expecting anything from your side, there are rules. If you don't follow rules you will get punished, consider this as your punishment" Elena threw a fearful yet angry look to his way as he sped away.
She looked around with tears beaming in her eyes, where the hell was Katherine when she was suffering in that cellar covered with dirt?
She had few guess, maybe she was causally shopping in her favorite shop, buying tons of clothes for herself. Or maybe she was actually looking for Elena, somehow Elena did not think that she was doing that. It felt like Katherine gave up on her, maybe it was because she gave up on Katherine.
She took a deep breath and looked around, she saw the blur her eyes and tears caused. She saw the metal door, she saw the dirty ground, her reddened wrists because of the force Elijah had been using on her. She saw it all to capture it, remember it; forever and always after she finally got released.
Because she was going to survive, because it was a Petrova speciality and she was a Petrova doppelgänger.
