"So she does not remember she was compelled, but she was compelled to find you. The vampire must also have compelled her to forget that she was ever compelled" Kol was not the brightest person in the family yet they needed his assumptions and assistance.

"What do you suggest?"

"Davina can channel power from me and look through her pretty little memory" Rebekah nodded, looking at her brother who was still sharing his stare down with his mate. They were looking hideous, so stupid. "Will they continue doing that? Is that even normal for them to do that?"

"I don't know, I have never seen a vampire being so crushed over finding its mate." Rebekah nodded, looking at her brother and the girl. "God this is scary, so scary"

"At least they are not hurting each other" Rebekah frowned but nodded. "And this is our only relief, amazing is not it?"

"You are Niklaus" Elena said slowly, making sure she was right with the information. "Yes, I am" Elena nodded, looking around. "Eliza said you wouldn't kill me"

"You know Eliza?"

"He was supposed to kill me, he told me to find you I said no and then I was here" Klaus nodded, Eliza compelled her to find him but why? He was supposed to be his enemy, why was he helping him after all these years of being enemies? "I would pay it with my blood to see two Eli's fight over this" Rebekah hit Kol's arm but she could not agree more.

"Go check upon your beloved, I bet she is awake"

Kol smiled sweetly and walked upstairs. Rebekah narrowed her eyes and left the parlor as well. Elena continued looking at Klaus. "Will you kill me?"

"No, how could say that?"

"I know about the curse" Klaus nodded, it all made sense to him now. Of course she was hesitant, of course she was sad. "I believe Katerina told you"

"She did"

"Well she missed out a little information" Niklaus was now getting our of the zone he had fallen into previously. "A vampire would not kill his mate, I am not stupid nor that much of a heartless monster"

"Your what?" Elena blinked rapidly, making Rebekah sigh. "Will she always be so stupid or is this her lacking food and energy?"

"You try to live off on a dungeon where you do not get to feed or warm yourself"

"I was killed honey, try harder"

"I wish I was as well but-"

"Enough, both of you. Rebekah, darling, a moment with my mate please?" The blonde Original narrowed her eyes and walked out of the living room. "Excuse my sister, she is on her nerves. She hates this city"

Elena did not really care about her so she just let it go with a shrug. "What does it mean that we are mates? Like we are fated, meant to be together for the rest of our lives?"

"Pretty much" Elena took a deep breath and sighed. She looked at the ceiling as she started to get teary. When Niklaus realized he let out weak chuckle. "Oh, do not be that sad. An eternity with me would not be horrible"

Elena shook her head. "No, no do not get me wrong. I am pretty sure you are such a nice guy other than your homicidal rage"

"Five minutes in my house and you already know me by heart sweetheart" Elena smiled softly. "I miss Katherine"

"Ah yes, about your mom" Klaus stood up and walked up to her "As the sign of the good will, she is freed from me now" Elena raised her eyebrows, kind of in disbelief. "Just like that?"

"What were you waiting love? Fireworks and celebrations?" Elena narrowed her eyes. "Ass"

"You are insulting me way too much for a pretty little mortal" Elena nodded and stood up, walking out of the room. "Do not get me wrong, I do not trust you"

Niklaus nodded. "But I do know you are a clever guy and would not kill your mate, I do depend on that"

Niklaus raised his eyebrows, almost about say something. He instead just laughed it off like it was some sort of joke. But she was damn right about that, Klaus would never hurt her.

"Want me to take you to your room?" Klaus asked gently, earning a nod from the doppelgänger. They walked through the staircase. "Is there any way I can see or contact with Katherine, to let her know that I am safe?"

Klaus debated it for a second before finally handing her his phone. "Of course sweetheart, however you want" Elena was surprised with the fact that it almost took zero convincing. "Oh, thanks"

"Love, you are not a hostage here. Do not ever think of yourself that poorly" Klaus stopped them and turned to the girl. "I have been looking for you, for ages. I would do everything for you" Elena let out a really tiny smile, and Klaus realized perhaps his words were a bit much for their first civil talk.

"Let's get you to your room love" Elena nodded and they walked to upstairs. Elena could not help but wonder why she was in peace around him, she did not mind.
