Rumple's POV

Holding (y/n)'s beating heart as I ran around trying to find out where she went, I looked around as I panted. Where could she have gone? Sighing as I looked at her heart for a moment, shaking my head and waving my hand as a cloud of purple smoke spun around me and I was moved to my castle. Looking around for a second as I listened to see if she was in the castle.

"(y/n)!" I called out as my voice echoed through the walls. Running up the stairs I checked the castle room by room. After not being able to find her anywhere in the castle I growled a little. Turning on my heels I ran back out towards the village to see if she ran around there. Wandering around in a hurry to find her, I looked at her heart one more time before I gritted my teeth, I was going to hate this with every fiber of my evil being.

Pulling it up towards my lips I sighed gently before I whispered into it, the bright red heart beating steadily in my hand. "(y/n), it's Rumple. Go to the Dark Castle and I'll meet you there." I said before I teleported back into the castle. Waiting for her to run into the doors I stood there, the only sound was her beating heart in the silence. It echoed off the walls a little as I watched the doors.

Sighing with relief as they burst open and she came inside. Panting heavily, I rushed over to her before I grabbed her shoulders. She smiled gently before she dove into my chest and hugged me tightly. Holding her for a second as she calmed down I moved her hair a little as I looked at her.

"I have something to return to you," I said and she nodded before she looked at her own heart and gulped gently. Putting it against her chest, I put it back quickly. She made a small noise and before she put her hand over her heart. Looking up at me for a second before she turned to look at the dagger that was in her hand. Raising her hand slowly for a moment she brought it over to mine, and the dagger was set into my hands. Feeling the cold metal in my hands I looked at it for a second, it called out to me.

Putting it down next to me I watched as she looked at me confused. "I was more worried about you, dearie," I said and she smiled gently. Pulling her close to me as I held her I glanced at the dagger for a second before I felt her fall asleep in my arms. Waving my hand over the dagger, I put it back into the vault, and I picked her up.

Carrying her to her room I put her in the bed before I snapped my fingers, changing her clothes instantly. I tucked her in and sighed gently for a moment as I looked at her. I had almost lost her since I took her to that ball, next time we don't bring the girl I love into the castle of my best student and enemy. Walking over to the spinning wheel that I had added to the room, I started to spin while I watched her sleep.

Your POV

Running around through the woods I giggled, seeing that I was once again home with my parents. Smiling as I ran around the house and laughed loudly as my father caught me and picked me up.

"No fair, Daddy!" I said as he ticked me. Laughing through them before he kissed my cheek and smiled at me. "Come on, let's get you cleaned up for dinner," he said and I smiled. Nodding as I looked at him and put my hands on his shoulders before he carried me inside and we got ready to help with dinner. Any other night was as simple as it always was, that was before I started coughing again.

Pulling my hand from my mouth after the small coughing fit, I saw that there was some blood staining my hand. Looking over at my father as he frowned before he wiped it away and sighed. "Looks like we won't be able to play for a little while," he said. Nodding as I coughed a few more times before my mother came into the house.

My father turned and looked at her as she glanced between the two of us. He didn't have to say anything before she knew what it was. She put the things down that she had gotten and walked outside with my father. I was left to play with the toys while I could hear them talking outside.

"She's getting worse, what do we do?"

"I don't know, love. We've tried every doctor there is, every herb."

"What if we called for him. He said he would be able to help. He's our last chance for our baby girl to live."

"I know, I know. But you know that the cost is steep."

"I'd rather she grow up without us than watch her die, she's so young, she might have more luck."

Turning back to my toys I sighed gently. Coughing some more before my mother came in to put me into bed, telling me she would get dinner ready while I rested. Nodding gently as I watched her share a look with my father before he gave a single nod, I fell asleep just before I felt my father give me one of my toys in bed and kiss my head before he helped my mother.

Rumple's POV

I was lost in my thoughts as I watched the wheel on the spinning wheel turn slowly. The gold thread ran through my hand and into the basket next to me. Hearing a noise break the silence I stopped spinning as I lifted my head to hear it better. Listening for a moment I was able to tell that it was (y/n). She was whimpering in her sleep. Sighing gently, I walked over to her quietly before I waved my hand over her, getting it to stop.  I didn't want to change her dreams to hurt her, but I didn't want to listen to her suffer.

I had to come clean about what happened in the woods, and why she's an orphan, and I should do it soon. Though I should have done it a long time ago. Going back to my spinning wheel, I sighed gently before I continued spinning. The only way I thought I could tell her about it was if I tried my best to be gentle and explain myself. I didn't want to do the deal, but her parents insisted. I had very little to gain from it, I didn't even want their firstborn. But since I stole the power of the Seer. I was able to see the future, one where she ended up in the foyer of my castle, then becoming my maid.
