Your POV
I woke up the next morning, but Rumple wasn't at the spinning wheel he summoned last night. The spinning wheel wasn't there either. Crawling out of bed I put on a robe and made my way to the wardrobe. Getting changed into something a little more presentable, one of the dresses that I wore throughout the day. This time instead of it being blue or pink, it was a pale yellow.
Putting it on, I slipped into my shoes and made my way to the kitchen, it was almost time for breakfast. Humming as I got to work, making tea and whatever breakfast meal I could think of. Hearing a knock on the doorway I looked over seeing Rumple stepping into the kitchen.
"Good morning, Rumple."
"You're awfully cheery this morning, it's quite disgusting."
He smirked at me as I giggled gently.
"I take it you slept well?" he asked as he sipped on the cup of tea that I poured for him.
"I actually wanted to speak with you about that." Glancing to him as he rose a brow.
"What about it? Was I in your dreams?" He gave me that same giggle as he looked at me.
Shaking my head and rolled my eyes. "I wanted to thank you, for what happened. You could have left me to be stuck in my fright-filled dreams, but you woke me up anyway. Even stayed in the same room, when I asked you to."
He gave me a playful gag as he listened to me finish. "Oh, please dearie. Don't go soft on me now."
I giggled once more and walked over to him before I kissed his cheek. "I'll find the man behind the beast before long."
I walked off towards the dining room as he followed me.
"Actually, about that, I think you should leave. I don't need a maid anymore."
I stopped as I turned to look at him, confused.
"What do you mean? We made a deal that I will be your maid for the rest of my life."
"That deal is now null and void. It doesn't exist any longer."
I was surprised and utterly shocked. What made him change his mind? And why now? Feeling him grab my arm he walked me over to the door before he used his magic to open them. They swung open and hit the sides of the walls. I looked at him as he rose a hand towards the outside world.
Stepping through the doors I turned to look at him before he looked at me. His face said another story. Like he wanted me to stay, turning as the doors closed, I looked at the woods. I could feel the breeze and hear the robins and blue jays chirping. Starting to walk down the hill from the Dark Castle, I stopped and shook my head.
Marching back up to the doors I flung one open and when I didn't see him in the dining room, I went towards the west tower. Getting to the room, I flung that door open and found him at his spinning wheel.
"I thought I told you to leave."
"You've told me a lot of things, now I'm going to tell you some things."
With a heavy sigh, he looked at me and crossed his arms. As if he was telling me to 'go on.
"You can't make a deal with me, then just break it with no reason. Tell me why you want me to leave and not be your maid anymore."
He stood up and walked over to a window.
"Do not look longingly out of that window for dramatic pause, Rumple tell me what it is."
Spinning on his heels he looked at me, giving me that same point I saw him give others. "You're dangerous, dearie."
"How am I dangerous? I don't use magic."
"You have something stronger than magic, something that is difficult to stop."
"What would that be, Rumple?"
"Love for me."
I rose a brow as I looked at him. Crossing my arms, I tried to tell if he was joking or not, but he wasn't. He was undoubtedly right too. Somehow during the three months that I've been his maid, I fell for the Dark One.
"You think I love you?"
"I'm a perceptive sort"
"You're insane."
He waved his hand as if he waved off my last comment. "Besides the point. But that's okay, I have that effect on women." He stepped closer to me as he lowered his voice.
"You love me, and that dearie, makes you too dangerous."
He was inches from my face. I gulped gently as I looked at him.
"I don't see how that makes me dangerous."
At this point he had walked off a few feet from me. That was before he turned and grabbed my arms tightly.
"Because no one... no one can ever love me!"
He let me go, and I hit the floor. Standing up slowly I brushed myself off.
"Get out of my castle."
I wanted to protest, but I couldn't.
"Now you have made your choice, and you're going to regret it... forever. All you'll have is an empty heart, and an empty castle."
I turned and made my way to the door that I had flung open earlier. Stopping as I put my hand on the handle to close it, I sighed gently. My voice was low, barely above a whisper.
"You could have had happiness, if you just believed someone could want you."
"No one ever wants a beast."
Looking at him for a moment, he turned to look at me from where he was standing. He didn't wear the same crazed smile, instead he looked lonely. Like he knew that he was pushing away the last person that cared about him, forever. Pushing the door open I stepped back into the room.
"Well, I do! I don't care if I have to spend the rest of my life trying to prove that to you while I clean your castle! Do you really think I care what everyone else says about you?"
"Why would you ever choose to stay with a monster like me! Especially since I'm letting you leave."
"Because I love you!"
He blinked as he looked at me. I stepped over to him and put my hands on his vest. "Rumple listen to me, I told you that I want to meet the man you used to be."
"That man is long dead, the coward died as soon as I became the Dark One!"
"Why? And for what? So, you could be as powerful as you are, you say that magic comes with a price, I heard you say it with our deal and with every other one that people have asked of you. The price you paid was your son!"
I watched as his face turned into pure anger. He grabbed my arm and started to drag me all the way down to the dungeon, throwing me into the same cell that used to be my room. He pointed at me as he yelled some more.
"You lost your chance at freedom. You can stay down here until I figure out what to turn your sorry hide into, no one speaks of my son like that!"
Slamming the door as he left, I was left in the dark cell by myself. Good going (y/n), what do you do now?
