Chapter 1
Bad Blood• 👑 •
Luxembourg, Europe
"Kumain ka na ba, Gonzalo? Teka lang, paglulutuan kita," Gonzalo remained standing at the corner of the Queen's house, near the capital of Luxembourg. It was small yet spacious. When he first entered, sinalubong kaagad siya ng kusina ng bahay nito, just a few meters away is already the living room.
"I'm okay, your majesty—"
"Gonzalo," nilingon siya nito. She looked at him like what he said was silly. She was already wearing an apron. "Please don't call me that. You know that I'm not anymore."
"Mama! Who is he?" Bigla itong nilapitan ng anak nitong lalake. Gonzalo couldn't help but to stare at the boy. His hair was brown, a brunette, just like his father. His eyes were green, the same eyes with Madrid's late father, everything on him resembled Madrid Anselmo so much.
"Anak, he's a friend," Sofia Elena crouched to meet her son in eye level. "Can you go to the living room muna? Watch your favorite cartoon as Mama will have an adult talk with her friend first."
"Okay. Are you going to cook dinner na, Mama?"
"Yes," ginulo nito ang buhok ng anak. "I'll cook your favorite. Basta maghintay ka muna sa sala, okay?"
"Okay po, love you, Mama!" The boy immediately gave Sofia a quick kiss on her cheek pagkatapos ay tumakbo na ito papunta sa living room.
"Sinclair, be careful!" She said loudly. Hinarap ulit ni Fia si Gonzalo.
"Sinclair?"
Sofia nodded. "Sinclair Augustus."
Napangiti si Gonzalo.
"It's a beautiful name."
Fia smiled back and proceeded getting some ingredients from her fridge to cook some food. "Thank you. What brings you here? It's been eight years since we last saw each other."
Gonzalo took a deep breath. "The King, he's becoming worse."
"He's already worst ever since, Gonzalo." She rebuffed. Nagulat naman ito dahil sa sinabi niya. Gonzalo chuckled lightly. He seemed to agree with her.
"Yes but he was calm and reasonable when you were there."
After chopping off some of the vegetables and putting it on the pot, she turned on the fire of the stove. Fia immediately washed her hands in the sink and wiped her wet hands with her apron. She looked back at Gonzalo again.
"He could have married again if he wanted to be calm and reasonable, well, victimize another woman." She shrugged.
Gonzalo fell silent. He continued to stare at the Queen. She looked older yet independent. Her pixie cut hair showed she was finally liberating from all the mess she left in the Philippines... and it suited her.
The Queen of Snow was always a woman of dignity and elegance.
"He's been terrible after believing you died."
