Chapter 6 A hug is a cure of sadness

"Lukas, my wife prepared some food for dinner, do you want to come over?" Jansen, one of his neighbors in Zürich, called his attention after harvesting some potatoes. The weather was warm and it was good season for harvesting crops.
Phaedron Lukas smiled at the old man who's already in his late early 60's. Matagal na niya itong naging kapitbuhay magmula 'nung manirahan na siya sa Switzerland. Jansen and his wife, Noemi, was very kind and hospitable. The two of them were the only one whom he really knows that much. Magkakalayo kasi ang mga bahay ng mga tao roon. It was a very clean and peaceful environment.
"Sure, I'll also bring some wine for us to drink," he replied and Jansen chuckled. Walang anak ang dalawa kaya naman para sa mga ito, itinuturing na rin siyang parang totoong anak.
"Good, good, we'll wait for you. Take a shower first," the old man jokingly said and Phaedron shook his head, smiling. He waved at the old man before entering his house. One of the good things also from the old couple was that they speak English and sometimes, they would also teach him how to speak Swiss French and German.
Phaedron took off his farm hat the moment he entered his house. His house was just simple. All of his savings that he had when he was still royalty in the Philippines were used by buying a house and a farmland in Switzerland. Eight years had passed by and he never regret any single thing from leaving behind his old life. He was alone, sure, but being alone was the most peaceful thing that he ever had.
Pumunta siya sa kusina ng bahay niya para uminom ng tubig. After that, he opened his laptop which he left on the top of his dining table. Switzerland has low crime rates that's why he doesn't need to worry leaving behind some of his stuff in his house.
He browsed for some local news. Wala na talaga siyang alam tungkol sa nangyayari ngayon sa Pilipinas. He browsed news at the CNN website for international news. Then something caught his attention when one of the article mention his half-brother, Madrid with a headline "The Iron King of the Philippines." Curious, he clicked the article and opened it.
He fell silent when he started to read what the article was about. The article talked about how Madrid Anselmo and his strict regime ruled the Philippines with terror. The article was basically saying Madrid Anselmo was a very terrible king.
He sighed and immediately closed his laptop. Hindi na niya dapat pag-aaksyahan ng oras ang ganung mga bagay. He chose to leave his hell of a life in the Philippines to live peacefully in Switzerland.
