knock knock

Jeongguk was standing in front of jimin's door. Actually it was already three days after getting the permission from seokjin and taehyung to tell him.

But jeongguk may or may not have accidentally gotten a lot of work he had to do first.

Of course it was not accidentally.

But nobody had to know this, right?

So when even taehyung asked when jeongguk would finally bring his friend, the angel figured he didn't have much of a choice anymore.

Especially since jimin has been asking him about it for the past few days, too.

That is how jeongguk ended up in front of jimin's room.

It was pretty late, around nine o'clock or something probably. The perfect time to take someone to a basement. Not.

Jeongguk got distracted from his thoughts by the door in front of him opening.

"Yes?" Jimin asked.

"Hey..." Jeongguk waved awkwardly at the older. "I could tell you now about... you know, this situation."

"Really?" Jimin sounded really excited and relieved. He was really glad that his only friend finally told him the secret that kept both of them awake for a few nights now.

With different reasons of course.

"Yes. But I'd rather show you. Could you come to the basement with me, please?" Jeongguk actually got a little nervous now.

What if jimin didn't react like he expected him to?

What would he do then?

"We have a basement?!" Jimin seemed quite shocked by that fact.

Jeongguk just nodded, hiding his hands in his pockets. A habit of his.

"Well, then let's go? I hope there is no corpse in the basement..."

The angel let out a small forced laugh. "Its not, dont worry."

"You seem a little nervous. Is your secret so bad?" The elder chuckled.

"You will see..."

The two arrived in the basement without bumping into somebody.

"Okay, so, jimin..." Jeongguk started. "I'm sorry if that overwhelms you now, but, I mean... okay, you will see. Please dont scream."

Now jimin seemed to get a little unsure, too.

It couldn't be that bad, right?

Jeongguk slowly opened the door.

"Heyyy, jimin is here. Don't scare him."

Jimin stopped moving for a second. 

Was there someone in there?

Why did jeongguk have a person in his basement?

The younger switched the now working light on and carefully grabbed his friend's arm to pull him into the room.

Jimin's eyes needed a short time to adjust to the sudden light, but when he finally saw the inside of the room, he froze.

The mermaid in the middle of the pool wasn't real, was it?

Jeongguk pranked him.

Right?

"Jeongguk?"

The angel closed the door behind them.

"This is a joke, isn't it?"

Before jeongguk could answer, taehyung did.

"No? I mean, I am not a joke. I am amazing. But jeongguk already said you wouldn't believe it."

Jeongguk facepalmed himself.

The mermaid spent too much time with seokjin. They didn't even know each other for a week!

"I'm sorry, jimin. This is no joke, it's real. But that also wasn't everything yet."

Jimin just looked at him, too speechless to say anything right now.

But again, the mermaid interrupted jeongguk.

"Your friend is an angel."

Okay, so now jimin was close to fainting.

"An angel?" He repeated in a small voice. "And he's a mermaid?"

"I am." Taehyung answered first, again.

"Yes." Jeongguk really didn't want to look at jimin right now. The situation was sooo awkward.

"Seokjin is, too. An angel, I mean." Taehyung continued blabbering happily. He developed a really bubbly personality over the past days, without appearing fake or cringey.

Honestly, it always made jeongguk smile. It was just so endearing.

"Oh..." Jimin still didn't have any words for this.

"You don't have to say anything. But please don't tell. I trust you with this." Jeongguk wrapped his arms around jimin's shoulders and gave him a quick side hug. The elder smiled at him weakly.

"Of course I won't. You still have to get us out of this gang. I need you  even as a non-human." He gave the younger a weak but none the less real smile.

"We'll talk about it tomorrow, right? You can got sleep over it first."

"Well, I'll still be here tomorrow. Can't go anywhere." Taehyung shrugged, ruining the moment once more.

Maybe he still lacked social skills after nearly one year alone in a basement.
