"Why would you think that?"

Jeongguk really didn't want anyone to know his identity.

He was also pretty sure by now that his wings didn't come out. It was nearly impossible for them to appear without him wanting them to.

But how could this boy know?

It didn't sound like he was guessing or just saying non-sense.

And why was he still sitting in this dirty water?

He needed to know.

So he did the only thing he could think of.

"Stay where you are or you are dead."

With that he closed the door behind him, making sure that it was not locked.

He didn't want to stay here longer than he needed to.

Then he slowly walked closer to the pool.

"Are you maybe a demon? Or a vampire?", the boy asked.

He seemed to be pretty chilled for the fact that a gun was pointed at him.

That was when jeongguk saw it.

The long fish tail just underneath the water surface.

He gasped.

He expected many things behind that door, but for sure not a mermaid.

Was this supposed to be a joke?

"What the fuck is this?!"

Okay, so now he was definitely flipping out.

Why was there a mermaid in his gang's basement?

What was he doing here?

Not being able to say anything more he watched the shiny blue tail move in the dirty water.

It looked beautiful.

Even with all the dirt and the bad lightning.

He couldn't even avert his gaze when the mermaid started to speak up again.

"I thought you knew."

Jeongguk could practically hear the pout in his voice.

"The gang leader brought me here after all."

Now that made the angel look at the blue haired's face again.

"That's not possible", he said. "I am the gang leader and I've never brought you here."

The mermaid was silent again.

Jeongguk started scanning his body. He didn't know what a mermaid had to look like, but he was way too thin. If he had legs he would probably be half of an average human's weight.

"What day is today?"

Jeongguk frowned. What was this question supposed to mean?

"It's Thursday...", he answered never the less.

Now the mermaid started moving towards him.

"The year I mean. And the month."

He looked at jeongguk like he was stupid.

And jeongguk didn't like it one bit.

"Stay away, I gave a gun." He warned.

The mermaid stopped in the middle of the pool.

He looked at him expectantly.

The angel sighed.

"It is August 2017", he finally answered.

"And you became the leader when?"

Now the mermaid looked annoyed, too.

Great.

Jeongguk wasn't planning on making him angry.

"In December", he answered rather quickly this time.

He didn't want an angry mermaid in his basement, especially not when he knew basically nothing about their species.

"Hm...", the other hummed, "I've been brought here during autumn. You weren't the leader that time."

Amazing.

He had a mermaid sitting in his basement for nearly a year and he didn't know.

That was definitely not how you are supposed to lead a gang.

So, again, jeongguk did something stupid.

Please excuse him, he was just way too confused to make a sensible decision.

He turned around and walked out of the door like he hasn't been inside just seconds ago and left the basement as fast as possible.

Don't judge him, he saw a mermaid for the first time in his life.

That's much to take in.

Poor jeonggukie... I kinda want to laugh at him. Don't ask me why.
