"I remember that night vividly, the night that saw the East End of Glasgow running with bodies outside of the known zones where gangs and other degenerates as national papers often referred to them as. We had the Polis closing off areas from the public, sirens ringing around all night as people form the community gathered around. I remember speaking to various people that night. Some described how they found the body in question at the site they were at. How some needed their dentals checked because they couldn't be recognised. Even the rough burly nightclub owner was in shock at the depravity of what he had found of Billy Boy fletcher's youngest lad body hanging from the wall. Billy himself had according to those close to him gone mad with rage and vowed to touch the city for his son's killer or killers as some had claimed the deed had been done by more than one.
That it had been The Backend Boyz from the north, others said it were the Tongs with their motto Tongs Ya Bass painted over the local chippy where Robert 'Balls' Cochrane has a bunch of scottish eggs hanging from his mouth. Some thought because of two of the sites of bodies found being well known to be safe places for those that were considered different. That it was a targeted message to those that would harm those, especially as Billy boy's kid and his mates were known to sprout threats to those that hung out there and taunt them.
The Polis closed the investigation after struggling to find any suspects over the year long investigation. Billy Boy went rather quiet after a few weeks despite how outspoken he was in general, he never did end up torching any sites or people in revenge. To this day people continue to whisper about it among themselves. The community of those sites became much more vigilant afterwards due to the polis's response in the whole matter. Who or whom ever did the deed that night left a shadow over the city of Glasgow.
