I woke up and looked at my alarm clock. It read 4:57 am. Six hours of sleep. Great. I tried going back to bed, but I couldn't sleep, I couldn't calm my nerves. So instead, I walked down to the dining area of the pub and just sat there.

Apparently I wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep. Tom the Bartender was down there too.

"Ah, Miss Potter. You're up early."

"I couldn't sleep." I confessed

"Here, I'll make you a cup of tea."

I normally didn't drink tea, but I didn't want to be rude so I accepted.

He handed me a cup and I drank it. To my surprise, it was actually pretty good.

"Thank you." I smiled

"Of course. I remember the week before my first day at Hogwarts. It was stressful." He said with a shrug

We sat in silence as I drank my tea "So you're Harry's sister?"

I sucked in a breath. This was the first (and definitely not the last) time I was referred to as this. Sucking in a breath, I finally responded "Yup. Harry's sister."

I didn't want to be known as Harry's sister. I wanted to make a name for myself. To be known as Hensley Potter, the Girl Who Lived. Not "Harry's Sister".

"He came in here last year. Had a meeting with the Minister. Apparently he blew up his aunt?"

"I remember that. He wrote to me and told me how proud he was of himself. I hated that woman. Awful thing she was."

He nodded and watched carefully as I drank my tea. "You're from America?" He finally asked

"California." I replied

"The Golden State."

"Have you ever been?"

"Yes, actually. I had a friend out there."

"It's quite nice in the summer."

"What about the winter?" He asked

"I wouldn't know. I'm normally in Massachusetts for the school year." I shrugged

"Oh."

We chatted quietly for a few hours until I checked my watch and realized it was about 7:30. Jenny and Adam would be getting up soon.

As if they knew I was thinking about them, the two tired-looking adults walked down the stairs into the dining area as well.

"You're up early." Adam said

"Couldn't sleep." I replied

"Morning Tom. Got any coffee made?" Jenny asked

"I have tea." He shrugged

"Good enough."

Tom poured the two of them each a cup and we sat and drank tea.

Soon it was 8:00 and I had decided to go get dressed.

I brushed my hair and put it in a ponytail, then put my glasses on. It was going to be a cold day so I grabbed a Wampus sweatshirt and threw a pair of jeans on.

I took a deep breath and walked through the door.

My "new life," as Jenny and Adam had begun to refer to it, was gonna start tomorrow. Today was the day before everything changed. Walking down the stairs, I noticed the interior of the Leaky Cauldron. The old, shabby-looking drywall gave me comfort for some reason.

I walked into the main area again. Adam was nowhere in sight but Jenny was dressed and ready to go.

"We're just waiting on Adam." She said cheerfully.
