Dinner the next day was...interesting. The 'rents heard our fight the night before, but no one was speaking about it. As everyone sat in silence around the table, a fire was raging in my mind.
Blake's mom, who had brought Circe, because her parents were working, cleared her throat, "Why don't we all go around the table and say what we're thankful for?"
"I'll go first," Circe said, "I'm thankful that I have a boyfriend my age," She looked directly at me.
"I'm thankful I'm not a shallow bitch," I said immediately.
"Language!" Jenny scolded
"I'm thankful I haven't had multiple fights with my brother in the last two months."
"I'm thankful for a family that doesn't think work is more important than me."
"I'm thankful for a family that isn't dead."
"Circe!" Noah's dad roared, "That is out of line!"
"What about what she said?"
"I was getting to her next. Both of you out." Adam said.
"Gladly," I said and left the table, climbing the stairs to my bedroom while Circe went God knows where.
I climbed out to the window up onto the roof. Who did she think she was?! I couldn't believe it was only Thursday. We were supposed to go Black Friday shopping and I still had most of Saturday I was here. I wouldn't see Hogwarts until late on Sunday night.
Weirdly, the only person I wanted to see was my brother.
Why did my life have to be an angsty soap opera?

Hours later, Noah climbed onto the roof.
"Hey Henny-poo."
"Not in the mood," I sighed, hugging my legs and looking up at the stars.
He wrapped an arm around me, "She feels awful, you know?"
I didn't respond.
"So does Blake."
"I don't give a damn what Blake wants or thinks."
"Listen, I know you're upset because Blake moved on-"
"That he moved on?! Noah, I could care less what he does or says. What bothers me is the fact that he could act so awful so quickly. I know Circe and I have never really seen eye-to-eye, but for her to act like that is out of line."
Noah sighed.
"I just wish my life was normal. That I wasn't famous or that my brother didn't hate me or that Fred wouldn't twist my brain up or that I think I have feelings for Malfoy and I just- ugh."
He furrowed his brow. He wasn't sure who Malfoy was, but thankfully he didn't press the matter.
He just hugged me, which is what I really needed at that moment.
"I just can't believe I went over there and told everyone how amazing my friend group was here and yet this is where we are," I sighed.
Noah continued not to say anything, just to hug me.

We spent all night on the roof, sleeping sparingly. If there was one thing I was sure of, it was that Noah and I would never grow apart.
That morning, Jenny climbed up as well.
"Blake's parents decided it was best if they went home," She told us.
"Good," I replied, "I never want to see them again."
"Hensley," Jenny sighed, "I know you're upset-"
"Upset? I'm downright outraged. I was going to come home at the end of the term. Thank God I didn't finalize anything. I'm staying over there for the school year. Maybe I'll come home for a week of Christmas break."
Jenny frowned, but she understood, "If that's what's best for you, then that's what's best for you."
"Thank you," I replied.
I was done with the U.S., and all my so-called "friends" that came with it.
A/N: wowwww i'm alive again. please understand my absence and take this poor excuse of a filler chapter as a token of my apology.
