6 - You're Gonna be Here for the Next Four Years

I woke up the next morning more refreshed than I'd ever been. Stepping out of bed, I wondered if I should write to Adam and Jenny, but then remembered they were on a plane home, and it was 10:30 Pm in L.A..

It was gonna take a while to get used to this time zone. Everything is backward.

Hermione was just waking up. She looked around and smiled at me.

"Morning!" She said cheerfully

"Ugh," I groaned "Too early."

"It's 6:30 am."

"Not for me."

She gave me a questioning look until realization dawned on her face. "Ohhhh."

"It's 10:30 pm."

"It'll take a bit to adjust, but I'm sure you'll do just fine." She smiled

"I admire your confidence," I said sarcastically as I dug through my trunk, looking for my robes.

I got in the shower quickly, used a spell to blow dry my hair (and straighten it, no frizz guaranteed), got dressed, and walked back into the dorm within 10 minutes.

As I waited for Hermione, I thought about the dream I had that night, which seemed like years ago now.

The room we were standing in was definitely the Great Hall. The people with Harry and I were Ron and Hermione. The boy who said he loved me was either Fred or George.

But love? Really? I couldn't see myself romantically involved with either of them. I wanted to be Ron's friend, didn't I? They were his brothers, and they were like brothers to Harry. It wasn't fair to them.

And besides, redheads weren't my type.

Hermione walked out of the bathroom while I was lost in thought.

"Hey, Hensley...?"

I snapped out of my thoughts "Hm?"

"You looked dazed. Kinda zoned out. You ok?"

"Yeah...Just thinking things over."

"Let's go eat. Food always seems to calm Ronald's mind," She scoffed

I laughed, "Good idea. I'm hungry."

We walked down the dormitory stairs, through the common room, and out the portrait hole. Everyone was staring at me. I felt so awkward and kind of just wanted to disappear.

"They're all looking at me," I whispered

"They did the same thing with Harry on his first week. It's the scar, I'm telling you."

"And people at Ilvenmorny were just getting used to me, too."

Hermione gave me a sympathetic smile and walked into the Great Hall. I looked around for the boys, and finally, I saw them.

Harry's eyes light up and he smiled, "Morning, Hens!"

"Morning, Harry," I grinned back, "How did you sleep?"

"Pretty good. Morning, Hermione."

"Morning, boys." she said as she sat down next to Ron. I sat across from them, next to Harry.

"So I heard you take a muggle class about killing people? Something about Chematrine?" Ron said, confused.

"What? No! Who told you that?" I asked

"Fred and George." He shrugged

"Ohhhh...No, I do not take a muggle class on killing people. Its called Chemistry. Basically its on a bunch of muggle substances that can be poison. Its like potions class, but without magic."
