Vasu

°。°。°。°

"Mumma, I'm not marrying him! I literally am his worst enemy." I yelled as soon as Mr. Saxena left the house.

"Vasu we were forced to agree to all this..." my dad explained. Geetha Chechi walked over to me and placed an arm over my shoulder.

"Appa is right, he didn't give us a choice,"she said calmly.

"You're going to have to adjust to this, after all they do seem like a good family." my brother added. I grabbed my car keys and my bag and left for college. Maybe by the time I got back home everything would be back to normal again.

College held more problems for me...

At lunch I sat next to Jasmine. Priya, who usually sat next to us, was sitting with her boyfriend the past couple of days. I knew she was mad at me for messing things up at the party. It's been me and Jaz since then.

Now I was feeling confident so I walked over to their table.

"Can I have a word with both of you." I said. Landon gladly smiled and forced Priya to our table. They both had a seat and awkwardness overcame us.

"So... I know you're mad at me because of all that drama but we have more things to worry about!" I said, "I'm really really sorry, Landon and Priya, please forgive me."

"Fine." Priya gushed at my apology.

"So what were you talking about you know the-" Landon started.

"Akilan's parents want me to marry him..." I muttered. Priya's eyes bulged out and Jaz choked on her sandwich. Landon looked like he died for a second.

"Wait what-" Jaz mumbled.

"I don't have a choice here, and that dude is going to kill me!"

"Calm down sister..." Priya calculated in her mind.

"How did this even happen?" Landon asked.

"I saved his dad from an accident and now we're getting engaged next week."

"That- that's... AMAZING!" Jaz yelled.

I slapped my forehead. Of course wanted to hook me up with him... should have known.

"It's not a good thing..." I protested.

Jaz, Priya, and Landon gave each other high fives. That's it I'm done with these guys. How do they not understand the seriousness of the problem I'm facing right now?

I'm definitely more than satisfied with my exotic dreams with Dylan o'brien.

And...

Staying single forever.

It's more than enough for a simple person like me. I mean who wants a husband. Yes, me! But not him. I mentally slapped myself for not being able to come to a decision.

"We can help you get ready, and choose an outfit and..." Priya ranted.

"Get ready to mingle with him." Jazz added while winking at me. Landon placed an arm on my shoulder to comfort me.

"Hey I understand that you don't like him... and maybe he doesn't like you either but he's a really nice guy... just has a lot of issues." Landon said. He gave me a promising smile.

"Thanks buddy..."

And with that I left for my next class. At least I would be caught in vocabulary words instead of worrying about my life.
