He turned around to face me and why I was holding his hand. Stopping him in his own giant house. I almost laughed at myself too.

"Let go princess." he said in a cold voice.

I tugged him back up the stairs and into the hallway once again.

"Stop calling me princess idiot."

"Then what should I call you... bitch?" he chuckled. Still cute, but not going to work with me.

"I have a name you know."

"Princess is way better."

"I like my name very much."

A very awkwardly long pause took over the both of us. I noticed his heavy breathing came back to him again.

"Vasu?"

"What."

"Keep talking rubbish."

I froze at how calmly he was talking to me.

"Why loser."

"Because if you don't I'll end up aggressively hunting my dad down."

"Why would you do that? You'd probably end up ruining your family's good name."

"Does it look like I care?"

"Probably yes."

He rolled his eyes. It's the calmest I've ever seen him in the past couple of times I've met him. Suddenly I saw his mom walk up the stairs and toward us.

"I've been looking for you two... come eat." she said, pushing me down the stairs. Akil followed calmly behind both of us.

We all sat together to eat and it seemed like nice quality family time. I was sitting next to Geetha Chechi and Varun Ettan on the other side of me. Once we were finished eating Mr. Saxena called us into a silent room.

"So I wanted to talk to you two." he said. Akil didn't bother looking at his face; he kept staring at the floor with his arms crossed.

"You forced a marriage onto us, what more is there to talk about?" he snarled.

"Everyone is here and thinks you guys are a great couple. If you spoil it now son... you know what will happen. So I want you two to at least let the rest of us believe that you like each other." he took a long pause, "Is that understood?"

The question seemed to be more directed to Akil but I still nodded my head. Akil just left the door and I followed his lead. I walked over to my parents who were getting ready to leave.

Thank god I couldn't handle anymore of this right now.

"Your guy looks really cute." Geetha chechi commented as we got into the car.

"And he seems like a very nice guy. Why would you even be overreacting about any of this." Varun Ettan asked.

I rolled my eyes. Only I know what I've been through and now there's nothing I can do to stop any of this.

"You guys make a great couple." my dad added.

"I can't wait." my mom said.

I sat silently in the very back seat, listening to my family make different and encouraging comments. They all liked Akil, except of course me.
