I sat in that plastic chair staring at my phone that was now nothing but pieces of plastic and metal. Vasu wasn't here to calm me down so here I am in the middle of a mental breakdown. I was starting to depend on Vasu to help me get out of my rage. My thoughts were disturbed by Akash entering my room.

"Sir, Harjit sir and Arun sir have told me to inform you that something has happened and they need you to get back to the hotel immediately." Akash informed me.

"What happened to Vasu?"

"I'm not sure sir, but something bad has happened."

I grabbed my car keys and drove as quickly as the damn car would get to my hotel room. Everyone was there waiting for me. Harji had Vasu's head in his lap. She was close to becoming unconscious.

She had blood dripping from her head and there were bruises in parts of her body. I dropped down next to her, gaining control from Harji.

"Someone call a fucking ambulance!" I yelled.

"A doctor is on the way; he'll be here any minute." Arun said.

"I'm fine." Vasu mumbled.

"No you are not fine, where is the doctor!" I demanded. I couldn't afford losing anyone else in my life.

After what seemed like centuries a doctor rushed into the room and started checking her.

"She seems fine, nothing life threatening. She has a small concussion, and the bleeding has already stopped. The bruises and cuts should heal soon." the doctor concluded.

I carried Vasu to the bed upstairs and then came back downstairs to ask what had happened while I was gone.

"What the hell happened?" I asked.

"I came to visit Vasu on my way back from the restaurant and I found her lying on the floor tied up. I tried calling you but you weren't picking up so I called Harji."

"We'll go check the security footage to see what happened, you go make sure she is alright." Harjit said before leaving with Arun.

I went back upstairs to Vasu. It was already 10:30. I sat next to her on the bed and she got up and panicked with my movement.

"Calm down, it's just me." I soothed while slowly rubbing the inner palm of her hand.

"That's already enough to be scared about." she chuckled.

"You're doing better aren't you?" she nodded her head lightly, "What happened?"

"Two guys attacked me with a gun and asked for a file, which I think is the one you hid in the pantry. Before they left one of them smacked me with a vase."

"If you see them again will you be able to recognize them?" I asked.

"They were wearing masks. But I swear I could recognize one of their voices."

"It's okay, don't strain." I said, pulling her head close to my chest. All of a sudden the door opened downstairs. Vasu started to panic again.

"Who's there!" she yelled.

"Don't worry it's just Harji or maybe Arun."

"Oh." she squealed, "If it's okay with you... will you stay with me?"

"Of course princess."

I pulled the bedcovers over us and she dug her head underneath mine. By the time she had completely fallen asleep I saw Harji walking up the stairs towards me.

"We found out who it is."

"Where is Arun?"

"I'll tell but listen to me first-"

Vasu started shifting next to me.

"Can we talk about this tomorrow, I don't want her to wake up."

"Sure."

With that Harji left me alone with Vasu who was sleeping peacefully in my arms.
