Khalil POV
"Dada get off that damn ball" I said to him as he bounced on Avaa's yoga ball. She uses it to help get the baby to descend and her labor started which hasn't helped yet, but his legs were too short to reach the floor, so I knew it was only a matter of time before he bounced off and hurt himself. "Bear, stop jumping on my couch" I swiped his legs from under him and he fell onto the couch and erupted in a fit of laughter.
How the hell did Avaa do this for 2 weeks?
Its been 2 days since I got home and Kylei's surgery, so I took off work for a few days to relax after my two week long trip, but staying home has proven to be more work than actual work. I'm tired as hell and it's only Monday. The boys have been running around and bouncing off the walls all day and bothering Kylei on top of that. But, luckily, other than wanting to rest a little more often, she's had a quick and easy recovery, so they're not much of a bother to her.
"Khalil Syre Jr., do not make me pop you" I warned him as he had gone back to jumping on the couch. I knew he just wanted me to swipe his legs from under him again and make him fall, but I smacked the back of his legs instead. Jr. immediately dropped onto the couch and his lip started quivering, letting me know he was about to cry and not a second later, he began full on crying. "I bet you'll listen next time...ya lil bad ass" I mumbled to myself and let him cry it out.
I guess Kingsley took Jr.'s tears as a warning because he quit bouncing on the ball and found a seat on the floor. Thank the Lord. I heard the garage door open and close followed by the kitchen door. Ooh Mama's home.
"I'm home" Avaa sang from the kitchen.
"In here, babe" I called back and listened to her footsteps heading toward the den. I took a quick look around the den and it looked like a tornado hit- there was shit every where. I heard Avaa coming up the steps and watched her waddle into the room. Man I love that waddle.
"Hey baby" she greeted and I got off the couch to kiss her.
"Hey, how was work?"
"The usual...clearly not as interesting as whatever happened here today," she looked around the room at the tornado, "why is my son crying?" she pointed to Jr. and he was still sniffling. Dramatic ass.
"I popped his lil bad ass because he kept jumping on the couch after I said stop and he started crying all dramatic" I flagged him off and he crawled right onto Avaa's lap.
"Ohh you weren't listening to Daddy today?" she turned her attention to him and he tried to look back up at her innocently. "Was that very nice of you?" she asked and he shook his head no, "you hurt Mama and Daddy's feelings when you don't listen, so you need to go apologize to Daddy"
"Daddy, I sowwy" he said, coming to give me a hug which I returned.
"Thank you for apologizing and I accept your apology" I kissed his head, "now go play" I said and he found a toy to play with Kingsley. Whenever the kids apologize for something, whether it be to each other or us, we try to say "thank you for the apology" rather than "it's ok" because we want to teach them that it's good to accept an apology for someone's actions, but not ok for people to think they can treat you in a way you don't like. The boys got engulfed in whatever toy they were sharing, so I turned my attention back to Avaa. I wrapped my body around her torso and gave her belly a kiss, "Hi my Kamrey baby" I said and she started moving around like crazy, "how was lil Doo today?"
"Same as always. Active and perfect" Avaa smiled and readjusted herself to get comfortable with my body wrapped around hers, "how was Kylei, she still sleeping a lot?"
