One and Only

Chapter 20

Khalil POV

"Rd y'all can pick it back up again!" I told the movers after hanging up with Avaa. This move was in full effect, I even got Jay to help me out and come to my house this morning all dressed for work and pretend to drive us to work this morning. In reality, we just circled the block, came back to change into some more comfortable clothing, and called our guys over the second Avaa left. This house was going to be perfect, I had already gotten the keys from the realtor this morning and was now in the process of packing up my house. I had a shipment of furniture coming to the new house later today, so I really needed all this shit out of this house and set up in the new house ASAP.

"Guys, please don't break that- it's Avaa's favorite china." I yelled to the people packing up my kitchen and not even 5 minutes later, I heard a plate shatter. I let out a huge sigh and walked away to keep me from losing my shit.

"Its gonna be fine and worth it big time when you see how happy this will make Avaa." Jay slung his arm across my shoulder and led me away from the kitchen. I sighed again, "you're right, this shit is just stressful as hell." I ran my hand down my face and noticed someone almost drop the 3D ultrasound, "She better like this house because we are never moving again," I angrily muttered to myself.

It was now 11 o'clock and we had just finished putting the last few items in the trucks. Altogether, we filled up 2 large U-Haul trucks, Alex's pickup truck, and Sam's escalade. Jay called them halfway through and I told them about the plan and they were both more than happy to help, which was great because I was close to losing it. While everybody walked through the bottom floor making sure we didn't leave anything, I called their attention.

"HEY!" I yelled making everyone stop, "Thank you guys for helping out, I really appreciate it! We are about to head out to the new house, I'll lead and you guys will follow behind me." I finished and everyone went for their various rides. Sam got in his car with a some people and only a few people were able to fit in with Alex and the U-Hauls.

"Hey Hondo, do me a favor and take some people in my Jeep."

"No problem cuzzo." Hondo ran to my Jeep with a few folks and then there were only 6 people left, including me and Jay. So I told Q and Niko to go in my BMW with the last 2 people and they left. I got in my Audi and Jay in his Camaro and we pulled out of the driveway to lead the team.

The house was in a completely different county and would be about an hour ride from where we currently were. All I knew was the address and today would be my first time seeing the house in person, so this should be interesting. I typed the address into my GPS and texted Sam, Alex, and Jay to do the same with the address attached.

About an hour later, everybody pulled onto the right block and into the driveway. I allowed the U-Hauls to back in first because they had all of the heavier things. I pulled up next to them and  everyone else drove in behind us. Today was Ishan's early day, but luckily he had football practice and wouldn't be done until around the time Avaa got off work. I told the both of them to meet me back at the house immediately after work and practice, but only to swing by and pick me up. I didn't want Avaa to go in the house and see it empty, that'd ruin the surprise and I still haven't told Ishan yet because the boy can't hold water.

"Ok, we only have another 4 hours before Avaa gets off and Ishan is done practice, let get this shit done!"

Just as I finished talking, the furniture truck rolled up right on time. I hopped back in my car and moved so that they could park closer to the house. I went into the house and just looked around- this shit was nice. Avaa did good. As soon as you walk in the door, there was a foyer with a big staircase off to the right and a formal dining room to the left. Then there was a big entrance in front of me to the room that'll be our formal living room and French doors to the back yard, but just before the entrance there was a hallway that lead to more house in two directions. Back there was a room that I'll make my office and 2 bedrooms with an in suite bathroom and in the other direction was my kitchen, regular dining room, and pantry. I walked up the steps and at the first landing there was a den and through a door at the back wall of the den, there was a hallway leading to 4 bedrooms. These rooms overlooked the land on the side of the house and it was a beautiful view. I did some exploring and found that there was one Jack and Jill bathroom for the 2 middle rooms and another 2 in suite bathrooms for the end rooms. I left these rooms and went back to the steps to see the rest of the house and upstairs there were 3 more bedrooms. I decided to see the 2 regular rooms first, both were pretty big, but one had a slightly bigger closet, so I chose that one for the nursery. We needed as much space that we could get for those kids. I found that both these rooms shared a Jack and Jill as well and made my way to the master. Inside there was already people putting together the California king bed and arranging the 2 lounge chairs I'd ordered. I nodded in approval then wandered into the bathroom and stared in awe- this was officially my favorite room in the house. This bathroom had 2 full vanities on either side of the room, a clear glass shower with 2 shower heads and jets on the wall, a jetted tub, and separate room for the toilet. Then right behind the bathroom was our closet and it was bigger than both our old closets combined. There was enough room to put all our clothes- hanging and folded, 2 walls on each side of shoe slots, a double sided dresser in the middle for our jewelry and underwear, and even a place for all of Avaa's bags and my hats.
