George's paintbrush was gently brushing on the canvas while the loud sound of Freak on a leash was playing in the background. George loved, and still loves listening to metal. A picture of a flower field started forming into the previously blank canvas. The songs went on and on until at least 10 songs had been played. He stepped back to look at the painting. George wasn't satisfied with how the painting turned out, but this time he decided to not to do anything about it. He sighed and laid down on his bed. He grabbed his phone and turned the music down a bit. If he could, he would open Instagram and stare at pictures of the blonde boy that goes by the name Dream, but he couldn't. For some reason, the boy had no Instagram. George had seen him on tiktok once but his dumb ass had refreshed.
Eventually he forgot about the boy and opened tiktok. He could relax and and scroll through the app for hours on end. There was absolutely nothing that could stop him from doing that.
George had been scrolling through the endless void of videos for Way too many hours. George was still laying on top of his light blue bedsheets. His eyelids were heavy and he was struggling with keeping them open. He got up and opened his brown bedroom door. His mind was empty, no thoughts, nothing.
After eating his sandwich, he Made his way upstairs and to the bed he had previously laid in. He didn't care enough to brush his teeth right now. By the time he had made it to his bed his brain had developed a new thought. What was it like in space? What was it like When you have got nothing under your feet? You could look down and see the endless void of space. Or was that void really endless? If you think about it, it's hard to imagine something that's endless. How can we float on a rock on an endless void? Space needed to end somewhere, didn't it? The thought of endless room of planets, stars and darkness was scary. Also, Somewhere in there are black holes that suck everything around them. George always thought those were scary, but he knew his fear was unnecessary since none of those was anywhere near earth. If space was really endless, There must be an another population, maybe many different populations. There is so much we don't know. There could be aliens somewhere. There could be someone who can't die. A whole planet full of people who can't die. This makes George think, Anything he did do and everything he didn't... does it really matter? He is so small compared to a fucking tree, imagine a planet, or a universe. So did the assignment really matter? His parents say that he needs it if he wants to have a "good job" as an adult, but then again, it's only one assignment, and 28% of people in America get paid less than $15 in an hour and 44% are Low-wage, so what's the point? The only thing he really cared about is to have enough money to live and some free time. (Having a green-eyed blonde guy in his arms would be nice too, of course)
Besides, he's interested in coding and streaming and shit, if everything goes well he'll might be able do that as his full time job.
George understood something that his parents clearly never did: he only lives once. And that lifetime is short. Even if it doesn't feel like it sometimes, his time is very limited (especially if he kept drinking monster so much). The average age of men dying from old age is 77 years after all.
If you think about it, He doesn't even know when it's his time for him to go. As an example, He could get hit by a buss tomorrow morning and never see light again.
But if that really happened, what would happen after that? Would his parents waste money on his funeral? Who would be there? George believed that every human has a soul, and it can't just disappear, right? So where does it go after leaving the body it was trapped into?
