The Joker Is Missing!

2. 8 : Welcome Home....... Dad

Rachel and her daughter didn't stay for dinner as they left early in Spade Mansion.

When the two of them were on the car and starting to leave, Rachel saw her own daughter looking at her sister Mansion with clear reluctance and though that she (little luna) can't bear be apart from her cousins. Rachel feel sour for a moment, then she gently tug her daughter in her embrace and said

"You'll see them again in next month"

Little Luna was confused on what her mother word means but she still nodded obediently and leaning on her mother warm embrace

The driver silently look at their affection between mother-daughter pair in the rearview mirror and start the engine without saying a word

~2 hours later~

Rachel Pov

After we return to the mansion, I held my daughter in my arms and open the door in one hand

Cold Silence was the only thing that greeted us as always , Most of the servants that got hired are part-timers and would left after finishing their task

Entering the house, all the lights were already turned on in advance so I hadn't had a hard time walking in this house. I put my daughter on a sofa and turn on the television as I then give her the remote and softly said

"Watch some cartoons, I'll cook for our dinner"

My daughter held the remote happily as she switch the channel to another, she seems to be looking something

After she finds the channel she likes, she smile at me and nodded in a sensible manner

I also smile back,

"What do you want for dinner?" I ask

My sweet daughter blink her eyes and said sweetly "Anything that my mommy cooks!"

Uwaahh!! My daughter is the sweetest!

I can't help hug her little body in my arms and rub our forehead

"Okay" With that, I reluctantly push my daughter and stand up from the sofa

I was just casually glance at what my daughter watching but it actually left me dumbfounded for the long time

'My daughter actually watch a live interview of Lucas'

When my senses come back, I'm already in the kitchen with a knife in my right and a cabbage in the other hand

I sigh at my messy thoughts and just pretended I didn't see it as I then dutifully slice the cabbage and starting to make dinner

~Half an hour later~

'Done!'

Wiping my sweat, I take-off my apron and wash my hands to clean

"Sweetie, it's time to eat" I raised my voice a little while I put the plate on the table

I didn't cook many, just enough for the two os us

Someone pull the hem of my blouse so I look below and saw my sweet little luna stretching her tiny hands and said cutely

"Up! Wash!"

Carrying her, I first open the faucet and let her wash her hands, after washing she grab a soap and rub it in her hands while humming

It didn't take too long as she then wash her hands again to remove the bubbles, after completing the procedure, she cleverly close the faucet and show me her now clean little hands

"Mommy, my hands are shiny!"

I chuckle at her childish words and nodded in agreement

"My baby hands is the shiniest hands that I ever see!"

I look at my daughter with fondness as the two of us then sitted at the table and starting to eat

None Pov

Rachel always had a small appetite so it didn't take too long for her to finish eating

She took her plate and wash it in advance together with the dishes that is piled in the sink

Little Luna didn't leave her plate at the table, she smartly put her dirty plate on the sink where the dirty plate put for and wanted to help her mother to wash some dishes

Rachel didn't agree and said

"Sweetie should go to bed early, let your mother clean the dishes alone, alright?"

Since her mother said so, little Luna can only nodded reluctantly as she then walk out to the kitchen

Little luna was going to head towards her room but the sound of car engine make her step pause

The door was suddenly open and reveal a handsome man around 26-28

His facial expression is serious and cold as he enter the house, he directly walk to the stairs to his office

"Welcome home......"

As he almost arrive to the top of the stairs, a child voice echo in the house which attract the man attention as he give a indifferent glance at the tiny figure

"Dad"

Lucas look at the child below, the little thing may seem smiling as if she's happy to see him but he knows clearly that her eyes had reveal chill

Both the father and daughter pair stare at each other for a minute before Lucas give an "en" as a greeting as he then question while walking down in the stairs

"Where's Rachel?"

Little Luna walk towards Lucas direction and said, still maintaining her cute smile

"Mom is in the kitchen, we're finish eating dinner, how about you dad?"

"Not yet"

As he now infront of his child, Lucas look down at the small child and took her in his arm as he continue

"Me and Rachel will be going out later, don't wait"

Little luna nodded and snuggle in her dad neck as she sternly said to her father

"Don't bully my mother"

Lucas look at the little thing in his arm and chuckle quietly as he then ruffle his daughter hair with hidden fondness in his eyes

To tell you the truth, Lucas love his daughter deeply as she is different from the other children who keep crying and making fuss from their parents but because she's not a child from a woman he loves the most, it only decrease his affection as a father

Little luna also knows that, that's why she didn't want to be greedy and just accept her father little affection before it will disappear one day
