"Good morning, Miss L/n," The man smiled brightly with his hand extended to guide you into the room.

"Harrison Osterfield, nice to meet you" He introduced himself as you both shook hands, making eye contact to ensure that he senses your easiness.

"Please call me Y/n" You chuckled.

"Sure, that's not a problem" He chuckled lightly as the both of you sat down, him on his compfy office chair behind the table and you on a comfortable grey sofa.

The walls of the room were a crystal clear glass with the bottom half tinted. The aroma of the room smelt of a manly diffuser that you found very calming and refreshing. It's going good so far: you got a handsome kind man interviewing you and a room that smelt better than your whole house itself.

Harrison observed you immediately from what he could see, his smile slightly faltering as he noticed your drenched outfit and your messy hair. Your grey turtle neck was splattered with dark grey spots of water messily and your thick eye-liner had luckily not smudged, but he put your looks aside for a minute to focus on the responses from his questions he's about to ask you. First impressions are always important and from his first impressions of you, he found a genuine connection just from seeing your smile and the calmness of your words. Your personality and attitude was now on the line as he already was disappointed in the state of your mess. He was still willing to see the best side of yourself just to give everyone a fair chance.

You noticed him taking note of your disaster but you waited until he would mention it later. His piercing, baby blue eyes were bright but you could tell there were some deep thoughts hidden behind them. His smile was trully a charmer but you could tell there was something else that wasn't all truthful about his expressions.

Harrison tried to find aspects of uniqueness within the individuals he interviewed and each one he tried to find ways. Except with you, he didn't have to try. He already saw it immediately even through the thickness of your eye-liner and the darkness of your clothes. He was able to see such a gentle, kind person. It doesn't mean you were though, that's just what he sensed under all your layers.

You knew he was judging you as that is his job but there was one thing you were wrong about and that is that he actually found a genuine interest in you.

"So Y/n, tell me a little about yourself?" He asked with a smile as he propped his elbows on the table, ready to engage a meaningful conversation.

Classic question.

You smiled lightly to yourself as you remembered the memories of your old job.

"I was employed for five years at a paper company and about a week ago, I lost my job because someone had bought it-"

"May I ask what your job position was?"

You paused, "I was the CEO"

Harrison's eyes widened slightly as he did not expect something like that position from you.

This is when he realised that he really shouldn't judge a book by its cover.

"I'm sorry for your unfortunate situation, I hope you find what your looking for" His voice sounded so airy and calm, like he meant what he said and once again you had to force yourself to stop thinking negatively as you were closing yourself off again from people. You could tell he felt bad, you could see it in his eyes and the tone of his voice but the stupid defensive side of yourself was really not helping. You had to listen from your heart this time.

"Its alright" You replied with a smile. An actual genuine one.

See one step closer.

"What's your hobbies or interests out of work?" He asked after glancing down at your resume.
