The high-pitched noise pierced in your head louder than it usually did any other day and the clamour of thoughts in your head faded out slowly into that one word you stared at continuously.

Unfortunately.

It rung over and over again in your head like the echo of the word would somehow fade like the darkness that you were beginning to settle in again. You found yourself not feeling any thing and suddenly the place you didn't want to go back to again was where you were located right now─In the back of your head buried down under emotions of heavy weights that resembled the pain you were under.

You knew something bad would happen but you didn't actually expect for it to be this. You hated when moments like this would happen because every time it did, it was always after a good one. That's why you felt as if life was a trap and you were just the poor mouse that someone was trying to manipulate and torture. It was hard for you, heck it was even harder for some people so that thought by itself, was enough to get you out of bed on your laptop once more.

More job researches to go and the closer you got to where you once wanted to be; a happier place.

That's what kept thinking anyways.

It was once again another week and you did your daily night jobs of delivering. Another week of the dull ache, making comfort in its way inside you, damaging your health. You've felt worse before but you definitely wouldn't say that this was nothing. You found that the more you cared about stuff, the more hurt you were going to be if things didn't work out the way you hoped it would. So caring less, became accustomed to you. Although you still cared for things, you just kind of left it to the side and forgot about it eventually. It was easier that way.

Being it that easy, you eventually forgot to care.

A sudden call from a familiar someone interruptedy you.

"Hey, Miss- Y/n" He stuttered as he quickly remembered.

"Hello Harrison" Your voice had a tinge of curiosity and Harrison noticed.

"Due to some change of events, decisions have been made.." The long pause was killing you.

"I called to offer the job position you were willing to take before..." His words then faded and you blinked harshly before you cut him off.

"What?!" The sudden shock of the news, made you react inappropriately this type of situation.

"Sorry, Harrison, please continue" You apologised immediately.

You heard him chuckle quietly and this made you sigh in relief.

"We are offering you the job, if you are still willing to take it" He finally finished.

"Yes, yes ofcourse I'd like to take it, umm when will I be starting?"

"Usually we wouldn't let a new worker start the day after the call but in this case, if your free, would tomorrow be alright? If not we'd like you to get started any day within this week."

"I'll be there by tomorrow" You confirmed. Harrison smiled quietly at the other end of the line.

"Alright, here are the details...."

Waking up that next morning, you felt something different that you hadn't felt in a while. The first thing you felt as you opened your eyes was a warm feeling in your chest, followed by a sense of hope. You were starting your first job today and you were eager to finally get busy again. You couldn't care less with co-workers but after you met Harrison, you reconsidered and maybe tried to get to know some people, but ofcourse still having that boundary so you knew where they would cross the line. You couldn't trust anybody that quickly, not even Harrison. Just because he was just a good first impression, doesn't mean you could trust him.
