Your office was definitely something you can get used to quickly. You were very fortunate enought to have a large occupancy of space, almost as big as Tom's office and the view was your favourite part. Your desk was centred in front of large wall on the left and opposite that is a small lounge area with a coffee table and a few sofas.

Your office was also accompanied by a few shelves and white filing cabinet which was more than enough for you.

"You are mostly going to be in here so feel free to get compfy however you'd like" Tom said as his hand landed on the your desk where you eventually placed your bag on. You and Tom returned to his office with him after he showed you around and that's when he got started with his rules and other essentials you needed to know.

"As boss in our company, I like to make sure that everything is organised and that everyone is accustomed to learning and adapting to changes when needed," His brows furrowed when he noticed you writing on a small notepad.

You glanced up when he paused and he spoke up once he realised that he was giving off a somewhat sour look.

"That, " He pointed at your notepad. "That is the type of stuff i'd like to see" He complimented for a brief second before continuing his discussion.

You had to contain a smile at the fact that this was actually going good. You'd just hoped that good will stick around like it mostly did on your last job.

"I prefer a group of dedicated people who can work together as a team that can function properly," He once again paused but as if to stare directly into your soul. You didn't dare give away any of your emotions as you revealed enough of what he was showing.

He was definitely an intimidating man and the harshness of his personality may be deemed negatively to the public eye, but you could tell that, that's not who he trully is.

"Do you remember a man speaking to you before you entered your interview the other week?" His voice spoke of such softness and you wondered when Harrison's words would speak of truth.

You placed your note pad down as you sensed the tone of the conversation change slightly.

Tom wandered through your features aimlessly as you gathered your thoughts to produce a reasonable response. Something was bothering him about your appearance but he couldn't tell.

You wanted your first conversation with him to be memorable and respectful so you made sure you picked out your next words carefully.

"Yes" Was all you said for him to continue what he was about to say.

Since Tom mentioned the man, you put the pieces together and realised that, that man was probably an undercover that worked under his orders.

"That man was my brother Harry, he scoped out the other candidates and remained undercover." He paused, leaning forward on his elbows where you got a small sniff of his cologne that engulfed your senses.

"He passed on the conversation you both had, and I was quite impressed from what he told me" He said this time leaning back on his big compfy chair. Despite sharing a compliment towards you, his face didn't match what he said.

Since you were both engaging in a comfortable conversation with both opinions being shared freely, you asked,

"If I may ask, Sir," You adjusted on the chair that you were sitting on.

"What was the cause of events that lead to my hiring?"

He found himself wondering more of you. How you answered him and how you show yourself around people was something he found intriguing. Harry said something similar on those lines and he couldn't agree more. It made sense though. He checked your profile and found out that you were the CEO from your previous job position. Suddenly he found himself feeling almost intimidated as he was taking charge of a person that was eligible for a CEO position just like him.

Your question snapped him back to his thoughts. Although he usually didn't usually get questioned, he didn't want to admit he liked answering them. It made him feel more intelligent, more dominant and the duty of responsibility gave him power to which he craved everyday, hence why he fit the role of the CEO position.

"The lady we hired; she was very smart, " He started. "Intellectual, and could understand information just like that. She was very quick to adapt and her attitude and mindset were in the right place," He tutted with an unfortunate feel to his tone.
"Too bad her heart wasn't."

From what you've noticed about Tom, he was a clever man; always taking time to gather his words before he spoke carefully with pristine. In a way, he was also a little bit like you.

"Harrison showed me the files on the USB you've given him, if I'm gonna be honest, if it weren't from what I saw on that USB, I don't think you would be here right now."

Your heart began to rise in its beats and you tried to contain it by taking a subtle deep breath.

"Although we don't recommend to receive files like these and only resumes, Harrison insisted for me to have a look at them, and I trust my mate's decisions."

Each time he was speaking you were slowly picking up on the smallest details in his words or in his actions and you had just uncovered the fact that Harrison must be a good friend of his.

"What you did was risky, but it paid off," He sighed.

"Your a risk taker" He stated firmly. "We couldn't let someone like you slip from us when had the chance of bringing you into our community." He nodded, although there was a bit of hesitance in the action itself. It's like he didn't want to admit it but can't help it.

"You offered a sprinkle of something different that would benefit the company"

"Thank you, Sir, but I doubt that I'm no different than the people who work here" You scoffed a little.

"Not to mention the time you saved me a cab," He offered a slight smile.

"Well that was nothing, Sir. From the moment I analysed the situation, it was always going to be you to take the cab"

It was then he realised that you were the type of person who would willingly take the fall just so someone else can have the benefit. Tom didn't want to admit that he was impressed just so things didn't get personal over the two of you so he kept his answer vague, but meaningful. A simple hum was all he revealed and it made you question about this man even more.

"You are going to be on a three month probation but please don't worry about that, I'm just informing you"

"Ofcourse"

He was once again silent but his conversational expressions and your exchange of the same, were keeping the situation from being awkward. His lips pressed in a thin line as he gave you nod.

"Welcome to Hollands castings"
