You patted your blouse down with a careful hand to ensure you wouldn't hurt your wound even more. Unfortunately, you had no choice but to wear a loose blouse for work since you had to give the cut on your waist some room to breathe and cause less friction. It was a dark maroon with a loose, almost low v-neck with short sleeves. It looked more for a casual gathering and certainly not for work, but you couldn't find anything else in your wardrobe that would fit Mr Holland's uniform standards. The thought of him scolding you made you remember to go shopping soon to extend your options of formal clothes. You'd only ever really wear the same 1-6 pairs of outfits each week, and most of your work clothes were never really loose.

Passing by Harrison and a few of his mates that he engaged a conversation with, you couldn't help but overheard what they said. They all spoke so extensively and so quickly that in the five seconds you walked passed, you heard one of them say that someone broke the coffee machine in the staff room and no one bothered to clean it up or report to anyone.

So naturally after a few hours of work in your office, Tom came in after your permission from his knock and notified you to schedule an arrival of security cameras in a few days for the staff room and add that to his shared calendar with you. This led you to an assumption that there mustn't have been any cameras that would've made it easier to catch whoever broke the coffee machine.

Since you worked more with him than anyone else, you both had to share calendars, so Tom knows when you're most busy or when to put work for you as well. He rarely touched his calendar, always made sure to let you schedule his stuff for him. He only takes short glances to see what's going on to make sure you and him are on track. And so far, everything has been such a breeze and he wasn't gonna admit it, but he was very glad to have you as his secretary especially for the short time he had left to find someone to replace his previous one. You made his job easier, so much more efficient than his last secretary. Well, in one way, it did. And the other way, not so much. He still couldn't really figure out why he couldn't seem to just get along with you, despite his first impression of you. It wasn't like you did anything wrong. He just wasn't able to find the right moment to continue things with you on a great path to maybe even friendship. So he doesn't really bother with it anymore since he saw that you didn't mind not having a bond with him. And it didn't seem to affect work, so he left it at that barely acquaintances dynamic.

Before he was able to leave the room after informing you of the cameras, he shot you a second glance, noticing your blouse. You brought him his coffee earlier, but he obviously didn't notice.

He walked back inside your office and stood in front of your desk.

"Miss L/N, you know the uniform policy,"

"Sorry, Sir, but I've managed to injure myself on my abdomen, and I wasn't able to find a blouse that matched the dress code whilst giving my wound some room for comfort."

He took a bit to process what you said whilst remaining silent. He didn't particularly look mean. He was just staring at you with a look you hadn't seen him do before but also one you couldn't decipher.

"Next time," He nodded, making short eye contact before exiting your office.

"I know"

For today, you haven't been feeling it, so you decided to eat your lunch in your office, which was not an issue at all. Except for the fact that you'd be missing conversations that you enjoyed with Harrison since you and him shared similar to almost the same time lunches.

To your surprise, a change of events was about to occur from just one knock on the door.

"Knock Knock-"

Someone peeked their head in.

"Theo?"

"Hey, Y/n, mind if I have lunch with you today?"
