"Second week! Whoop whoop!"

indeed it was.

That was Daisy, the kind and too innocent of a girl receptionist. She was practically friends with everyone as she was a chatter box and you noticed that there wasn't a particular person she favoured more. But how would you know, you've only been there for a week. Ofcourse the only person she actually couldn't break through was Mr Holland. You've only had one lunch break with her down at reception to get to know her, and so far she seemed like a genuinely nice person. She's not one of those who only acts kind just because everything is going their way for once.

Mr Holland was still the same Mr Holland you met, except a little bit worse. As he grew on you, he started to show personality traits that you haven't seen before. He was more rude and arrogant towards you but he was one clever motherfucker. If you both were exposed to the public, he would act almost decently, which is better than the way he treats you when it's just the both of you alone. You weren't sure why he was trying to put up an image for different people but it only made you more curious.

He also seemed to get annoyed when you'd show him a reaction that he didn't or wouldn't expect when he'd treat you so badly. And that annoyed him even more. He just really didn't like you. Something about you that just fueled his pessimistic self.

Not to mention the fact that you were trying to avoid him as much as possible and same goes for him but unfortunately, you were his secretary and you had to see eachother often to avoid miscommunications; It was unavoidable.

"Is there anything else you need from me, Sir?"

As you got to analyse and understand his ways in the workplace, you've learned that you had to ask permission before you leave to go home at 5pm in case he wanted anything else to be done. Luckily he hadn't let you stay longer yet-

"Actually, there is" That firm tone is just getting old now.

Spoke too soon.

"Create a planner and calendar, using this website right here, please" He placed a sticky note on his desk with the name of the website and the list of things he wants in the planner and calendar. It was almost as if he forgot to say please at the end there.

"Pick an appropriate design and send me a draft when you've finished it. I'll be here as long as you are so please, make it quick" That's all he said as he got back to whatever he was doing on his computer.

He took one subtle glance at your face with no eye-liner and that made him feel the tiniest bit better about you. He really didn't fancy that thick coat of black on your eyes. To him, it really dulls your personality even more than he thinks so before. Buuut, there was tiny glimmer in there of something else. He was obviously unaware of it but it was almost a small flicker in the direction of a positive feeling. Almost.

"Ofcourse" You left without another word as you began working back in the room that you always kept dark. Atleast you were getting Overtime pay.

You thought it was just you, but you weren't the only one learning from Tom as he had something to take away from you too. He almost forgot that you were also a previous CEO of a company and he noticed your little quirks that featured your working CEO side. You were always organised on time, handing him completed satisfactory work and he was never disappointed in your performance and adaptation. Well he was quite annoyed before when he'd repeat stuff to you as you weren't a robot with perfect intelligence but that annoyance did not fade and only increased as he picked up your small quirks that for some reason, really annoyed him. And although he'd admit it or not, that's when things got personal between the two of you. There was no reason for him to be bothered, but there he was, bothered by you.
