Chapter 28

Morgan came by the tower a week later, but even Wanda couldn't fix her. 

"Guys, I did it on purpose. She couldn't see me without crying. Look at her." 

Morgan ran in the gym with Peter, chasing him.

 "She's so happy, just leave her be". 

She said crossing her arms, and while Pepper wasn't happy about it, 

she had to admit Morgan has been happier to just forget Tony-but it makes her heart clench. 

Tony watched Morgan with a fondness and walked over to her. 

"Aunt Tony! Aunt Tony!" Morgan cried, running to Tony's arms.

 The Mind stone was smart enough to place some memories of Tony as she was with young Morgan in place of his old self, so she is still a familiar face. 

She picked up the child and placed her on her shoulders.

 "Alright, trouble makers, to the lab!" She said, stepping forward as a charge. 

Peter bound beside her smirking wildly.

 "What are you thinking, Itsy Bitsy?" She asked with a smile.

 "There's a surprise in the lab, you might want to give me Morgan, you might drop her".

 Tony huffs, but places Morgan on Peter's shoulders.

 She opens the lab to see a tall teenage boy talking with Jarvis. 

She froze in the doorway.

 "Harley?" She whispered painfully.

 Harley turned to face Tony, " Hey mechanic, it's been a long time...."

 Tony ran up to the teen and hugged him right, one hand around his back, one on the back of his head. 

"Harley.... where did you go?" Her voice was small and sad. 

Morgan left to go bother her other relatives, but Peter stayed with Tony.

 Harley looked at Peter with a slight smile as he hugged Tony.

 "I looked for you after the blip, but I couldn't find you.

 I knew you weren't missing, but when I didn't find you I thought you-". 

Her voice still small as she pulled back to cup his face, tears running down her own. 

"I thought I lost both of my kids". 

She sniffed, wiping a tear off Harley's face. 

"After the blip, I was the only one left. I went to California, mom had told me about relatives there...

I didn't know if you were alive or not. I saw the footage of you and Spider-Man in New York...

but there was nothing after that. Tony I'm-"

 "No, no, you don't have anything to be sorry for. It's my fault for getting stuck in space for three weeks". 

Harley smiles, "Only you could do that mechanic". 

Tony shrugged, "What can I say? I'm Tony fracking Stark". 

She turns to Peter however.

 "Peter?" She asked with mock seriousness.

 Peter runs the back of his neck," Yes mama?". 

"When were you going to tell me that Harley was in my lab? 

Or were you trying to get my heart to stop?" 

She asked with a smile, because if she didn't, Peter would start to freak out.

 "Well in my defense, it was Jarvis's idea.... Harley just got into New York today....". 

" Throwing me under the bus, are we?" Jarvis said, chuckling. 

Harley's eyes lit up, "How did you get him so advanced Tony?! It's amazing!" 

 Tony smiles a bitter sweet smile, "For the years I didn't have him, I'm not sure if it was worth it". 

Harley frowned, "Years? How long Tony?" 

 She scrunched her forehead, "More than 7, maybe 8". 

Harley nods, "Well I'm glad he's back... it sounds like he really missed you".

 "More so than words can say", Jarvis said somberly.

 Tony turns to look at Harley and hugs him again.

 Harley may have not known Tony for a long time, but he knew he was not touchy feely. 

He's really enjoying it, not gonna lie. 

Tony let go of him and began to tinker around the lab. 

Harley watches as her nimble fingers fiddle with some tech, the arc reactor glowing through her black tan top. 

A grease smear on her cheek, all attention from the brown eyes with golden flecks on the device.

 The dark brown, almost black hair in a ponytail, still swirling around her legs.

 "Why don't you cut your hair?" Harley asked as he watched her get short with it and braid it. 

"It's a nostalgic thing....I'm going to cut it in two months". 

The meaning is not lost on the boys, two months is when everyone returned from the blip. 

Harley decided to not beat around the bush with his question," Tony? How'd this happen?". 

"Ooh! I've been waiting for this! MIND! Be a dear and get Harley up to speed, just the basics please.... 

bare minimum- I'm trusting you with this" she said loudly, not pausing with her hair. 

"What are you-AH!" Harley yells when a flying yellow stone stood in front of him, and touched his forehead. 

Harley woke with a start, he was laying in a bed, looked like a guest room. 

He breathed heavily, swinging his legs out of the bed and ran out. 

One thought vibrates in his mind, 'Tony, find Tony before Rodgers does'. 

Mind did show him the basics, including the Infinity War-but also Siberia.

 Tony and Stephen were in the kitchen, taking over coffee, well, tea for Stephen. 

Harley leaned against the doorway, listening to Tony's voice, that sounded more like him than Harley realized. 

Stephen lightly kissed Tony, and walked out. 

Harley calmly ran to Tony and crashed hugged her. 

A new voice came in, that made Harley tense and pushed Tony back. 

Steve just looked at him confused. 

I'm sorry..... Morgan deserves to be happy....and we have Iron lad, yay....but what now?
