Legends Never Die

Chapter Thirteen

Stephans first reaction is to run to Mind Tony, he has felt her night terrors, and he wants to help her in any way he can. 

Loki's reaction is also to comfort Tony, who has seen first hand how these dreams...er, memories have affected her. 

Wanda stumbled back to escape the blue eyes that had almost killed Tony. 

She's not sure if she wants to kill Steve or give him a medal for almost succeeding.

 Time pulled up next to her as the other two tried to soothe Tony's Mind enough to continue to sleep. 

"And you want to know the sad part?", Time asked quietly, Wanda looked at the stone to listen, the sound of the shield ringing in her ears.

 "Well, actually I don't know what's worse, the fact that Rodgers knew for two years who had murdered Tony's parents. 

And used his money to find said murderer because they were friends before the war." 

Wanda's face paled as she put a face to the murderer.

 "Or, Tony didn't even go half power when he found out, taking on two super soldiers by himself, when Rodgers fought with his all". 

Wanda's mouth opens to speak, but no words come out. 

Tony was a baseline human, he used the suit to fight..and he could have killed the two-she's seen the schematics for the suit when she manipulated him the first time. 

She's not sure what to think, but she feels relief that he lived through that encounter....she finally speaks. 

"How long have we been here? Two-three hours?" She asked hopefully, trying to calm her hammering heart. 

It was Space who answered, "Tony has been asleep for 10 minutes, and I'm surprised that it wasn't this memory that woke her up screaming, it usually does". 

Wanda sways slightly and sits down , Stephan and Loki coming back to Wanda and the two stones. 

Wanda now sees the other four circling around her wrist, comforting her. 

The next nightmare plays, and it's extremely hazy. 

Tony is in her lab, alone, working on Vision, when she straights with an idea. 

She stands besides the workstation he is on, and uses the Time stone to bring Vision back, containing it only to his body. 

She activates the stone in her wrist and twists it slightly.

 Vision starts to come back, and once he looks like his normal red self, she turns it off. 

She turns around and walk to a workbench to grab a scanner to check his brain. 

A metal hand wraps around Tony's throat and lifts her up, strangling her. 

She looks straight ahead and into the glass wall, catching the reflection of metal-Vision is not holding her, Ultron is.

 A voice can be heard, giving the room chills, "Hello Mother Dearest". 

The room that was pitch black, now only looks black, and Mind Tony disappeared.

 "She's awake...."Time said sadly, and Wanda was having problems breathing.

 "Why do all her villains choke her? That seems specific'', Stephan asked, voicing what was bothering him. 

Loki hung his head slightly, "I fear that is my fault...mine and my brothers". 

Wanda and Stephan narrowed their eyes on Loki. 

"When I attacked New York, Tony had tried for me to see reason, to just surrender.." he looked far off with a glassy look. 

"Because of the control Thanos had over me, I couldn't just give up with him tormenting my mind. And Thanos had gotten short with Tony and ordered me to kill him. 

I managed to hold him off long enough to only throw him out a window-but I grabbed him by the throat to do so". 

Stephen nodded thoughtfully, "You also mentioned your brother, what does Thor have to do with this?". 

Loki pales slightly, "My brother left my scepter for Tony to tinker with, and the Mind stone inside was still tied in with Thanos. 

I don't know what Thanos did, but I know that when Ultron was first let loose, Thor was furious. He stormed into Tony's lab, and picked him up by the neck and berated him for creating Ultron". 

Wanda was quiet, but she spoke to relieve her guilt, "The reason Tony even started to make the code for Ultron is my fault, I-" 

That's when the voices start, cutting Wanda off.

"Weak" 

"Selfish"

 "You may be a threat, but you better stop acting like a hero"

 "Merchant of Death"

 "Your gonna make weapons and that's final!" A slap following Howards words. 

"You..could've..saved..us...". 

Loki looked around for the voices, "What's going on?" he asked tensely. 

Mind seemed sad to answer.

 "These are her demons that she has been fighting everyday after she snapped. It had calmed down after Thanos, but when she woke up as a woman, they all charged at once. 

She's been able to tune most of it out, but they come knocking after nightmares". 

The voices around them continue, but Time was speaking to the three of them, most directly Wanda. 

"It's time for you to go back. Next time it'll be a week Maximoff. Don't mess with something that's already broken."

 There was a song being sung softly in the background of all the voices. 

Loki and Stephen listened intently, but Wanda was too busy listening to all the negative voices that have surrounded Stark all his life. 

They all heard one last voice that sent Wanda over the edge with her sorrow for Tony. 

It made Stephen astral projecting to the tower to mental comfort Tony.

 It made Loki run to find Tony with the help of Jarvis. 

"Why are you crying?!! Stark men never cry. Captain America would never cry, boy!" A slap followed by a sickening crunch. 

"Stark men are made of Iron". 

They were sent out, and Wanda stared at a wall, trying to figure out what she should do. 

She stood up and did what she wanted to do, she wanted to find Tony-and never let another person hurt her. 

And she knows, she knows, that she doesn't know ¼ of everything that he went through. 

She feels guilt for most likely causing some of her pain, and she's going to make it right, starting now. 

Good on ya Wanda, finally seeing Tony for who he-she is...Damn that is going to take some getting used to..
