Rakshit's pov
"What!!" Drishti was surprised to know this...at this moment I just want to runaway and not talk about this but I know I better finish this for forever.
"It's a long story" I scratched the back of my neck feeling nervous all of a sudden.
"Oh just spill it, will you? I have had enough of your suspense...and I am sure you don't want to provoke me into hitting you with something" she had an annoying expression and was looking for something to hit me.
"Well I am not a fan of domestic violence....you know.."
"RAKSHIT FREAKING SHERGILL...just spill it or else I am calling mom and complaining that you made me cry" she pointed a finger towards me threatening the life out of me.
"Alright... alright" I raised my hands in surrender.
"Where do I start from...uh..this is more difficult for me than I thought" I muttered and then heard her sigh.
"Coffee?" she insisted and I nodded.
We were now sitting on the couch in my room. I was still in daze as the memories of my sister Richa came in front of me as flashbacks.
"Hey" she squeezed my hand a little and her warm hands provided me utmost comfort to go on for this...once.
" Her name was Richa..my beautiful sister..she was an angel.. always the centre of attraction without trying anything. She had long hairs...when I and her used to quarrel mom used to tie our hands with her plates like handcuffs with her right hand and mine left one..mom used to say that we will be tied all day if we didn't forgive eachother.
Richa was always the forgiving one always... always however I behave with her she as my elder sister always forgave me." I closed my eyes to stop the tears I know are ready to fall. Drishti rubbed my back making me feel that she is here."She was a good at dance so she used to teach dance to kids in an academy as a tutor. The only problem for was...she was.. she was.. mute" I inhaled deeply and heard drishti gasp beside me.
"She had everything but voice..you must be thinking then how we used to quarrel" I looked towards her and saw sadness in her eyes.
"I and mom had learnt her sign language to know what she is saying...she was always against my rough schedule of work. She used to say that she is the elder one..I should enjoy and let her take responsibilities" I chuckled
"I used to annoy her saying she is getting old and should rest as a senior citizen." Those memories brought a sad smile on my face I know.
"Then one day she came home early fully flustered...and all red and she was stumbling with things...I and mom asked her what's wrong with her and she blushed. She showed us a ring on her finger then explained that an army officer had proposed her.
She said they met in her dance academy where he came to drop his nephew because he was home for holidays and he was helping her with things and always used to comment how beautiful her smile is...how gracefully she dances...and then he had the audacity to propose her!" I was so angry that day..I felt like how oblivious I was about my sister's life."Then I being the protective brother didn't let my sister go out of the house...it's not that I didn't want her to be happy or love someone but I was...I was..."
"Scared that she might be getting used...as no one would want to be in a relationship with a person who can't speak" drishti completed me. Sometimes I wonder how come she knows already what will I say.
"Yes..yeah ..it was fishy for me. Then one day he had the audacity to come and knock at my door. He said he would do anything to convince us but he wants to get married to my sister as soon as possible as he had to join his duty at the border. My mom thought to give it a chance and invited him for dinner that night. Before dinner I and Rohan got a background check done on him and came to know he was Ashish Sinha the most brave army officer..who had so many medals and stars and all. Then I managed to talk to his friends about his nature and to my relief everything was positive. At night when at dinner we talked he was impressive, truly a gentleman I mean that always comes when you are talking about army officer right! I asked him how can he love her knowing she can never say it back" I sighed
