Clara's POVOrientation day, an exciting start for every new batch of students! Having been in the CES since young, the Celestial schools were like my second home. As part of the royal family, I had the honour to take part in all the orientation ceremonies regardless of age, and I have to say Celestial High definitely topped them all! With its bustling atmosphere filled with students living the "college dream", to finally be one of them felt so different and surreal.
The campus was familiar ground as I swiftly manoeuvred my way through the booths to collect my schedules. However, it wasn't easy to go unnoticed as each step I took came with either a friendly greeting or a royal bow. I approached the booth run by Chase's best friend, Nate, and grabbed the schedule he had taken out once he saw me coming--- perks of being the princess here I guess.
I thanked him and was about to leave when I heard someone shout "OMG HE'S THERE!" Immediately, I was met with a stampede of squealing Celestians rushing towards something, or rather, someone. "Oh, brother..." Literally. I whooped around to see my eldest brother, Chase, the star of the show, as usual, attracting swarms of girls like bees to honey. Just as i felt a headache coming on, Nate grabbed my hand and led me towards the back of the booths.
"You ok there princess?"
"Peachy."
"Well, you were never a big fan of crowds," he remarked, turning to where Chase's booth stood. "Look at him, secretly enjoying the attention. I bet if I were to go over, the crowd would double. No wait, triple! Or maybe-"
"Shouldn't you be mending your booth or something?" I interrupted, giving him the side-eye.
"Wow, so quick to get rid of me huh? I just saved your ass a minute ago, where's the love and gratitude?" He teased, nudging my arm with his elbow.
"Thanks, I guess," I mumbled. "Could you just tell my brother to come back home for dinner tonight?"
"See, that wasn't so hard" He smiled smugly. "And will do princess".
As he left, I flipped open my schedule and was greeted with "Personal Class Schedule", written in big bold letters. In an instant, my stomach started to churn.
[history- H (human) ~ history - M (magic) ~ realm management (R.M.) ~ physical (phy. ) training]
[*extra-curricular => flexible schedule, min. once a week for each extra-curricular]
I was excited about this fresh start but worried about what my school life would be like. So many classes in so little time, this is impossible! I was still pondering on my frustration till the sound of screaming and shattering crystals echoed throughout the courtyard. Just then, I felt a vibration through my pocket, receiving a text from Christabel.
Christabel → Clara
"Caden is at it again."
"Geez, he never learns. I'm on my way"
Clara → Caden
"Caden Azar Rose, you'd better get your ass out of the sky and fix this mess."
"Ha, make me"
"I see how it is..."
"Is that a threat?..."
"Hey answer meeee!!"
Christabel → Caden
"Clara's coming. You're dead."
"No you didn't-"
"Oh, shit..."
"Mhmm"
I headed towards Christabel's dorm while sending a telepathic message to my second oldest brother, Cole, about the chaos downstairs. His reply? "Not surprised, make sure he gets his ass back home. He never learns..." I chuckled at the response as I continued to pick up pace towards Christabel's dorm. This isn't the first time he's pulled such tricks and it certainly wasn't the last. I made it to the lift but was greeted by an obnoxious "Under maintenance" sign covered in glitter. Great. I sighed as I channelled my magic to fly towards the highest floor to teach him a lesson. Keying in the memorised door code, I walked into the living room. There he was, sitting under his forcefield, avoiding eye contact. Guilty as charged.
"Unlock it."
"No."
"It's either I tell mum what you did again or you follow me out quietly."
"NO. DO NOT TELL MUM"
"Then drop the forcefield, Caden."
"No, my dearest sister, let me off this once won't you?"
"You should've thought about the consequences before making a mess again. Don't you know how much trouble you've caused? Cole is about to come after your ass if you don't get home right now!"
"I'm not afraid of that dolphin."
"The hard way it is."
I pictured an electric guitar and soon, purple streaks of magic flowed from my hands, forming the familiar feel of the stringed instrument in my palms. Breaking a barrier... B flat minor chord it is. With one strike, the forcefield crumbled into pieces and I reached out to grab the boy by the ear, dragging him out of the penthouse. We turned around to leave and were greeted by the familiar sight of my best friend, and a flame-haired girl, her new roommate probably. Christabel and I exchanged a quick hug and I smiled at the girl before turning back to drag him out the door. Oh, he was in soooo much trouble...
