Episode 7

Clara's POV

I met with Claudia after the ceremony, just as we had planned the day before.

"Woah what happened there?" she asked, still muddled by the incident in the courtyard earlier.

"I'm not sure but I'm gonna check on them now. In the meantime, could you help Christabel collect her schedule while you collect yours? She probably won't be able to leave the dorm for the rest of the day. I'll meet you back here in 30." She agreed and turned to the booths while I made my way to the dorms.

I saw my eldest brother sitting on a chair slouched over, as he rested his head on the side of the bed where the unconscious girl laid. His hands were wrapped over hers as I gently tapped him awake, signalling that I would take over from here. Still in a daze, he looked back fondly at the girl one last time, planting a small kiss on her forehead before making his way to the door.

"Call me immediately if anything bad happens ok?" I nodded, as he ruffled my hair before leaving.

I then left for Christabel's room to make sure she was still breathing. Well, big mistake! The moment I opened her door, it was as if being an eye-witness to an explosion. Books and pieces of paper were strewn all over the floor and in the middle of the mess, was a zoned-out Christabel.

"What...are you doing?" I asked, still processing the messy state the room was in.

"Uh, just looking for something that could help Charis. I'm sure it was here somewhere..." She mumbled to herself. "Oh! Also sorry I don't think I'll be able to-"

"Yeah, I know. It's ok, don't worry about it, Claudia understands too. I told her to help you collect your schedule for school so we'll just meet up tomorrow to explore the extra-curricular booths. Are you sure you don't need my help here?"

"Nah, we'll be fine. You and Claudia go have fun, we'll see you tomorrow!"

Claudia's POV

After getting our schedules, I had a strange feeling as I left the queue as if something bad was about to happen. As we had planned, I walked towards the meeting point. Clara was already there waiting, but Christabel was nowhere in sight.

"How is she?" I asked as I walked up to her with the pile of books and schedules in my arms.

"Christabel? Oh, she'll be fine." She replied, looking rather dazed.

"What about the other girl?"

"Recovering, she's probably still shaken up by all that's happened"

"What happened there anyway?"

"Uhh I'll explain as we walk" She responded, her tone becoming brighter as she wrapped her arms around mine reassuringly. "Come onnnnn, we have a lot of ground to cover!"

We decided to take a tour around the campus. Although, it mainly consisted of Clara showing me the places she had enjoyed visiting as a kid and her sharing ALLLL her backstories. Soon, we reached the back of the school. I gasped as I gazed upon the electric fences that extended as high as skyscrapers lined up against the school's borders.

"Built to keep students in, and outsiders out" Clara explained, noticing the shocked look on my face.

"Well, what about him?" I asked, pointing to a boy standing some distance away from us.

Just as Clara was explaining, I spotted a blond-haired boy in a dark blue hoodie standing on the other side of the fence. Electric sparks sprung from his fingers as he effortlessly crossed the high-security barrier. He looks familiar... I squinted my eyes as the boy walked over. As he lifted off his hood, my eyes widened, but as I realised who he was, all I felt was pure annoyance.

"Zachary Matthias Jackson..."

and that's chapter 7!! such a random update at 12am but we hope it'll last everyone till chapter 8 is released! This chapter is a little shorter than usual but we promise, a more exciting plot awaits!! Don't forget to stay safe and stay happyyy!! 🤪🥰
